Only the second game to be banned, the first being in 1997.

Was that Postal, or Carmageddon?

It's a pity that other games with about 4 minutes of actual game with hours of tedium aren't also banned.

To be fair, Manhunt was very violent and I suspect Manhunt 2 is probably more so.

There's also the fact the the BBFC uses fairly large panels to review items, although I can't help but think it's probably biased slightly by the media outcry at the first game (even if it was completely unfounded).

Just heard on the radio that they have "suspended" distribution in the US aswell, as it has been given an AO rating there, which will apparently lead to WallMart refusing to stock it (guns = OK, Games deemed too violent for teenagers = evil :roll ) as well as some restrictions on ports that I didn't understand because it's already a console game. Rumours abound that they will tone down the content to achieve a lower rating in the US.

Which of course leads to a healthy underground market in downloads of "Manhunter 2 - the version they didn't want you to play"

Solid piece of hype, though
