I didn't know Travis were still about. Do they still sound the same?

Like this you mean?
I've always found Travis really boring, much like Coldplay which I'm sure lots of you will disagree with.
Don't get me wrong, I like some whiny Indie bands such as the Fray, but I just found Travis & Coldplay extremely boring.
Not heard of Wilco though, who would you compare them to?

Coldplay are not indie, they are evil cancerous polyps on the arse of teh music industry. a pox on them and their bretheren
Travis are OK in my book, but on the pop side of things (which is not bad, just shallow)
Wilco are also quite poppy, but I like them too. Didn't know they had a new album out though /fires up amazon
Recent (TM) albums to buy if you don't have them (IMO at least)
Badly Drawn Boy - Born in the UK
Kings of Leon - erm, the new one (just got it yesterday and it's nay bad)
Bonny Prince Billy (aka William Oldham) - Lowfi guitar / voice goodness.
The Shins - Wincing the night away
Recent stuff I didn't like as much as I thought I would really don't get on with
The Streets - Hardest way to make an easy living
The Killers - Sam's Town
Yeah Yeah Yeah's - Gold Lion

I've heard people say good and bad things about it, But I really like Linkin Parks new albumn (Minutes To Midnight). It's a new musical direction for them, so if you didn't like their old stuff you may like this, but alot of the derision I've heard has some from diehards who prop Hybrid Theory up as them at the hight of their musical ability, but which sounds completly different.

Wilco is definitely not "Pop," at least not over here. They have a big fan base, but they're anything but pop.
I'd call Wilco an alternative/folk-rock band. If you want to check out some of thier best work, grab
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. It's my favourite of theirs.
