Quoting gives an Internal Server Error

I dont know if this is happening elsewhere, and as a lot of you seem to be debate-allergic (note: debate!=argument); We seem to have a recurring ERRORZ in the gun ownership thread (outside the debate itself :) ).

Quite often, hitting the quote button is giving an Internal Server Error. No idea why, and reply still works. It always seems to be on longer posts with lots of quotes in, though.

Just FYI, really, wanted to be sure the right people knew.

I've noticed that it happens when there's a lot of quoting going on. It's the auto-kitten setting, but I think the kitten image repository is corrupt.

S'alright, it's the built in Fluff protection software kicking in. 5punk is coded to behave erratically when there's hints of drama. I think it was just righting itself after it failed last night in the BEEVEVE thread...

Overcompensating, so to speak.

As DP alluded to it's the anti-time tunnel effect (of lots of posters putting quotes in quotes until the board broke) going a bit wrong.

It is kind of annoying, and has been brought up a few times, but it was also kind of annoying not to be able to quote quotes anymore, although neccessary.

Luckily the board is free of signatures and other such bullshit, so it's less work for people to refer to preceeding posts if they're unsure of the current one's context. Unless a lot of different people post replies at the same time, it's usually clear, and posts can be edited if abiguity occurs. Not ideal, I know.

I'm sure a regex would fix all that.

Code: Select all

\[quote.*][\w\s]?+\[/quote]
Remove that from the quoted text, should never errorz then.
