Would you show up for pvp if.....

The corp is more than a little geared toward making pvp easy for you right now. Corp initial Battleship programme, corp insured/replaced ships, free frigs and cruisers in Nakah, (underway with supply/build/haul operations, keep checking the hangar and submitting those requests to Dres!)
What, if anything could make it easier/more fun for you to join in? Even solo it's a much bigger rush than anything else Eve has to offer. NOT saying other parts aren't rewarding, don't get me wrong. Just something about taking on the skills of other pilots, fully ready to lose some hardware in an attempt to destroy somebody else's hardware!
Please let me know if there's something in the poll I missed!

This seems like a good place to post this as "I don't know how!" is an option, in the next few days (I'll schedule something when I know when) I'm going to take a 5punk only t1 frigate only gang somewhere. Everyone will be in the same situation shipwise (t1 frigs only) and hopefully we'll get some people along who aren't very confident pvping, it'll be a fun, relaxed and amusing way to learn the basics of surviving and getting kills in gangs... plus we always try and get Jimmy killed

I really really really have no idea how to do this but we would strike gold if we could find a way to get people confident enough to go solo-hunting.
My only restricion is playtiem, with Billy graduating mining school and the L4 agent secured, my income is stabilising (still can't work out how to make HACs disposable though
there must be somewhere we can go frig / cruiser 1 on 1 pvping without getting squashed like bugs....
Or perhaps I'm missing the point and I shuold just head for the nearest 0.0 system and fly around at random looking for something to shoot...

Up until now, its been the Implants thing for me (And the loss of training time thats incurred when using a JC without benefit of said Implants).
However, now I'm at the stage where I can PvP effectively I'm having a BC built over the next few days (payment sent to Dres), and shall install a JC in Nakah.
Corp Ops YAY!

Rab's, could you toss in a bit about using the scanner with your training? I know that I would benefit from learning more about that as well!
Bomber: A Myrm w/ T2 fits isn't too expensive, and has NICE tanking capability as well. (The corp can help you with a discount on the first one, and corp insure it for replaceability as Knight is doing!) Probably better than an uninsureable HAC at least!
Knight, the corp keeps spare 'cheap' implants on hand in the corp skills/ships hangar too, so some of those navigation ones that are handy are more expendable that way. And as far as jumpclones, best advice I can give is plan your jumps well, there is a 24 hour timer after you use one before you activate another. That DOES NOT affect your backup clone however, so it's a good idea to move your replacement clone to Nakah so you can hop in another ship if you die and come rejoin the battle! Or, if you REALLY NEED to get to Nakah, you can get yourself podded, and you'll arrive as well!

Just do what I do, don't use implants

and sure Dres, not a problem, hopefully we can get the people who aren't confident pvping coming along and we can do a huge training session (and shoot Jimmy).

either that or make sure you only use your implant clone to pootle around Empire and don't do anything stoopid while in it because having implants knocks an insane amount off training times!

For me it's mostly a confidence thing, and partly that I feel stupid and useless (my fault, not the corp's) but I'm actually happy enough with just the PVE elements of the game.
Granted, I spend very little time playing it these days as I'm kind of waiting on a lot of skills before moving up to the next tier of ships, so it's less likely I'd get bored of ratting/missioning.

^I'd say this but I know that for me it would just be an excuse. I really want to PvP but am essentially a coward, which is all so effing stupid but there you are

I've found that going out PvPing with several people you trust and using ships with cheap bog standard fittings will help build the confidence

hmm you forgot the option that pvp is not your thing, you find it more a chore then a way for you to have fun, some people like i will pvp but prefer pve more.
also the main pvp horse in this corp is uk based. no offense dres most of the us guys are not on or afk 95% of time. so once uk logs off no one is on. no offense to bru or jack think they are like me as well. don't want to speak for them.

True True. Non-afk game time has been a bit of a bother for me lately. It all goes in cycles. I try to log in late afternoon if Im home just to give all a quick bum. As to the pvp. I have to keep my characters close to Goram fote the most part due to the research tower. Lots of in and outs in the labs. My PVP experiance all comes from ISS (sounds of moaning in the background). Some of it was the small gangs. The quick defend. Otehr of it was the ultra massive boredom. So I can commit to this. I will get a few ship to wherever it need to be to do some pvp. But like Dolly the USA vs UK timing can be a bit hurtfull. Like Bomber though I dont have real confidence in what to bring and how to fit in. narf you do what is easy. So someone take me under your wing. Rabbit no touching.

Please don't think that I'm trying to horse you to pvp. I'm just trying to remove any barriers is all.
Also, the alliance also has US timezone peeps, so don't let that be a limiting point. Gelvitron came along to help when I went solo that one night, I just popped before he could get there is all. Just give a shout, they're around, and they're experienced. Changed my mind a bit on the matter.

nope not saying anything like that but now that you bring it up that is the way some of it sounds (not this post), come pvp or you out - hmm that sounds like forcing. all i am saying is whos right is it in any corp in this game or in RL to tell you what to do - someone wants to spend $15 a moth per character to mine or research or run missions or trade or just sight see can do what they want its their money and their free time they are trying to enjoy. i want a 2nd job i'll get one that pays me and if i want chore i'll mow my lawn. i like how you bring this topic up asking people why they don't or hesitant instead of saying train rifter, scram, get out here or you out

since we joined BUM this is the way it is weekday nights - dolly, jack, bru, (dres here and there) and the 2 new guys (

) maybe just maybe 3-5 alliance members that either don't talk or running missions or afk doing things. now compared to uk and i won't list them cause its everyone else. q is back but hes in NR mining when on like he likes. now i know after talking to the guys that are on when i am on they will pvp its just not their THING. now when it gets late before bed then lyrus and friends log on but before then its quiet
