COH : So, you wanna be a hero?

This post shall deal with what to do when you first start playing City Of Heroes.
For people who have the game and have just opened it, GOTO 10
For people just reading this .GOTO 20
10 So,First of all goto the Defiant server. You've probally just opened the game and found 8 empty character slots. It should look something like this but without 7 of the slots full.
11 You'll need to choose your origin and archetype (AT).
Origins don't really matter, they just determine who your first contact will be. I have gone with Science.
You can see the games description of each AT by clicking it, but they basically break down into; Blaster, Long range offensive
Controller, long range support/offensive
Defender,Close range Support, main healing type
Scrapper, Fast, but fragile Close combat character
Tank, Slow, but strong Close combat.
For this example, i've chosen to be a Defender
12 Power time! You'll want to read each description to choose your own personal preference for powers. My defender is going to be a Dark/Dark defender, meaning i will have the dark maisma Primary powerset and the dark blast Secondary powerset.
13 Now we'll make a character. You first choose build; Female, Male or Huge. Huge is just a big unisex beast of a man. Like the Atrox (I think...) from Anarchy Online. Choose Height and body type and then move onto the fun part. The Character Creation
14 You can see the basic layout of the creation section here. For this charater hes going to be wearing all leather.
15 You'll reach the ID screen now, so put in a name for your character and away we go! You'll normally want to do the tutorial, if just to get the first level easily, but for the benefit of this guide, im going to skip it.
16Bondage man arrives in paragon city!
17 From here on its quite simple really. If you want to join the supergroup im in, send an ingame email (Like EVEMail) To my main, Drake and i'll get you an invite.
