First Blood

In my first solo (almost had an alliance mate there, he was one jump away!) pvp action, I got a kill! I actually saw my drones create a couple more pods, but didn't get killmails on them, oh well.

One Myrm down unfortunately, but it was built from scraps anyway, and insured!

6 on one was a bit too much for me it seems though, especially since they had me jammed. The Ogre's didn't mind though, and kept fighting, loved that, and they were barely knicking the ogres.

Was a ton of fun!

Nicely done Dres :likesitall:

Flycatcher for a myrm is probably a fair swap, depending on how each of you were fitted.

Myrm is my next purchase. hmmmm

Damn, you did well to get anything against that gang. Nice work. We're trying to pull in some more US TZ PvPers into the alliance, to give you some company.

Woo! :w00t:

I can't wait to get myself a myrm with T2 ogres, I'm training the skills while I do my exams, combined with T2 ion blasters and a couple of mag stabs it does 700dps :)

There was a guy in alliance chat, (at work so can't check my logs for his name) that was on his way to play in an AF. Between the two of us, might have done enough to scare them off.

More detailed course of events:

I jumped from Assah into 0.0, headed roughly toward 9UY, just looking for targets, (hopefully red). Finding none, and having somebody from the Alliance that wanted to come along, I ratted in G-sen2 while he put together an AF and headed out. Then a scout from Repro popped in, while I warped from gate to gate looking for them, two more showed up, and I started to sweat. Then more showed up, but some also left, so I thought "Hey, I wonder if they're moving stuff through?" So I started warping back and forth between gates, hoping to catch one of them. I caught two ships, don't even know the type because they warped out before I could show info on them. But when I warped to the next gate, there were suddenly six of them, (jumped in 2 I think) and they were closing faster than I could reallign, so I engaged the first thing I could lock. I got drones agressing that single target just before I was jammed and warp scrambled. My cap was holding fine, despite the AB and repper running as I tried to spread them out for my drones to get some damage in.

Being jammed, I was reduced to trying to target ANYTHING, and watching my repper battle against their dps. I think a dual rep fit might be an idea for next time, as well as a sensor booster to help avoid getting jammed.

My pod didn't last a second against them, and I was back in Nakah, wishing I had Myrms stocked there to go back for more! I managed to warn the chap from Alliance chat in time for him to avoid running into the group, and posted my killmails and called it a night. We're going to try to head out for more fun while I'm travelling this week. He's in the US as well, so might get more alliance peeps like myself that have been missing out on the UK timezone fun to come along. When we get some experience, we might be able to do tagteam support ops and stuff.

It was a great time!

Dual reppers is very much a must have really. Otherwise good, only word I'd say is needs more judiscious use of the ship scanner. I always set it to 90 degress and face infront of me when potentially warping to combat. Gives me the bonus of being very familar with the ship names in our gang and knowing what I need to jam. The odd idiot who doesn't change ship name is nice too. Point of note there is it only works to about 15 au, so anything more than that and you can't pre-judge a situation without a scout, which flying solo doesn't happen. In that case, celestials are your friend.

Oh, and you want ECCM not a sensor booster to making jamming you harder.

Hmm, have to figure that ship scanner thingy out, eh? Thought that was only useful w/ probes!

You need probes to pinpoint things, but if you aim at a gate or warp to and then set the scanner to cover about 15 degrees (if you're aiming right at it) and within range then it will show you ship name and type in that direction

*ponders Hehulks comment and renames his raven as Fabulousdancingyak's Mammoth*

Superbly done on the foightin' front Dres, wooperbly done :)

In other news, Dres has had a bank accept their offer on a home, and will be signing papers tonight. Also, his boss has excused him from travel for the summer months so that his wife can work overnights to help raise the income levels for said house and all the STUFF it takes owning one.

Future Eve time may be limited, but only the future will tell. (With wifey working extra, might be able to afford cable for internet access. We won't have a landline phone, so no dialup even possible.)
