Game have kindly saved you the trouble of having to choose where you do your highstreet game shopping. There are now essentially 3 Game stores in Basildon town centre.

I rarely buy games at RL shops but I do usually by my consoles there. It just feels better going into a shop and buying a new toy, as opposed to getting it delivered.

So how many Game shops are in your home town now? If you include the Gamestation(s).

I can think of one Game and one Gamestation in Newcastle. Is it company policy for all Gamestation shops to play the shittest type of irritating dance music in the world, or do the ones I've visited just happen to have managers with appalling taste in music?

Hmm... We've one large Game down the main street, a small one in the Menswear section of Debenhams ( ) and a newly refurbished GameStation further up the road. And a big Game in Meadowhell.
So the only alternative now is the cramped, run-down shop placed in the middle of the two Games. It's a proper, stereotyped game shop though, so woo.

We did have a Gamestation on the high road but that's now a 3 mobile shop (Making it about one mobile shop every 20m)

There is also a Game, another cheap cd/dvd/games shop closed recently and so now Game is the only local high street store I can buy games in :(

Only bought 2 from shops in about a year though

Hmmz, that makes two in my home town now. Within 45 seconds of each other at a run. Lovely.

Wonder which will get closed first.

I've experienced the same in my local store. I like a bit of 8bit gaming music but not type with ear splitting tones being played at a high volume.

Basildon's town centre now has 2 Game and 1 Gamestation, all within 200 metres of each other.

Monopoly?
That makes 3 game shops in watford within 50m of each other. Gamestation is opposite side of the road to one exisiting game store, and there is a bigger one just behind it in the shopping center.

I must say i sometimes get tempted. I think i bought battlefield 2 on a whim from there. Or something. Whatever it was, it wasnt worth it anyway.

One was an Electronics Boutique before Game bought them out. I always preferred EB to Game but then I didn't have a choice, now I have even less. :(

I can still remember the WTF factor when my then boss told us that we (EB) were buying Game. And then binning the EB brand. Something to do with EBUSA wanting a bigger cut of teh moneyz.

Hmm i always tend to lean to game anyway. Gamestation have pretty much any old random game, but Game have all the pretty ones with some good prices. The one near me has some pretty dam helpfull staff too (there are already two in the same shopping centre, but the guy phoned the other to see if they had a game in stock for me to save my legs bless him).

Actually thinking about it, the gamestation is about 3 shops away from one of the games. Now thats just silly

Cambridge now has 3 games (One being gamestation, which is actually next door to a Game).. and used to have 2 EB's, both were closed shortly after takeover.

Awesome, now I have a whole choice of 3 Games stores on the highstreet.

Game, Virgin and HMV. Who are essentially the same shop now anyway.

From memory (don't go to town much) Cov has a Game in the city centre, plus another ex-EB one and also one within the Tesco/Arena complex by the new stadium. There's a rathed beaten-up Gamestation in town, and my favourite one in one of the Blockbuster Video stores - which has to be open whenever that is.

Virgin Megastore, two HMVs and couple of other music stores stock a few games, plus there are at least two other game-only shops which have more second-hand games than new.

There's also a CEX near the market in Coventry. (Could of been one of the second hand stores you mentioned).
