They're dead Jim.
Which is bad, can anyone remember what we had in there?
I can remember
- BEEF 2/2142 (Patches and mods)
COD (Patches and maps)
PSP stuff (no idea what, i'm probably not able to replace)
Oblivion stuff (lat's problem, do we still need this?)
Tools (stuff like 3dmark)
Drivers (usual stuff, may be problematic, due to 3-4 versions for graphics drivers)
Beyond that, I'm pretty clueless.

As far as I can remember, there were patches and maps for all the usual games. Probably no need to replace the Oblivion stuff as I don't think it was used much, and I still have most of it on my HDD so if anyone really wants something then feel free to poke me.
Beyond that, I'm pretty clueless as to what was there too.

I've uploaded most of the important/really big stuff I could think of.
Should make it easier for the orange-named people to upload all the other bits without killing their connections for a week.

Souper. Now all I need is my avatar back! Is /uploads/ AWOL too then, and will normal service be resumed?
Barely had the chance to be online at home at all for the last couple of weeks, looking forward to having the office sorted out so I can play a few games again.

Everything went. someone got at the site and pressed delete.
Dunno if there's any chance of restoration, that's something for stoat to look at (comes down to if anyone had a proper backup or not)

I used the Oblivion downloads just the other day, but as long as the useful mods post is there it's not too important.
I looked for Nvidia drivers yesterday but they wern't up to date, and neither were the Dirext X versions (April package released)
But other than that I think the game patches are most inportant

This is the problem, currently to have reasonable coverage you'd need:
Nvidia Standard and 8800 Drivers in XP32, XP64, Vista32, Vista64
Daamit Drivers for XP32, XP64, Vista32, Vista64
And you'd have to keep them updated, doesn't look much fun to me.
Obviously, some stuff would be handy, like soundcard drivers, logismeg mouseware etc, things that don't get updated often.

This. Also it seems to me like there's not much point in mirroring them, as I've never had any problems downloading drivers from nVidia (and I assume downloading for ATI is similarly painless?)

Yup, only daamit use akamai, so no risks of any slowness.

The oblivion stuff was useful, I grabbed it just the other day, too - as most of the online stuff is failplanet.

Umm, I can give it a look when I get home and see what I've got. I might even have the ftp uplaodz codez myself from when I first did it. Just depends on me having the time, which is a bit lacking just at the moment.

Did you get my image directory? I'm most upset about losing that

Surely the ISP / Hosts have nightly backups they can restore?
I've had people do that for me when I've fucked things up in the past*. Never charged me.

If it's in downloads or uploads then it should be back soon. The files are restored they just need checking for maliciousness.
I'm pretty sure we can recover pretty much anything from the backups we found.
