Hey-o, I was wandering if anybody had experience/ interest in the game: <a href="

WWII online</a>
It looks fun, half scale Europe, the only problem is the people who play (i.e., too serious) but there is little more fun than pissing off WWII buffs.
EDIT* and a batillion of 5punkers....oh yes!

Is this like Beef meets WoW?

Pretty much, more life-like than beef though
Also, It's mac and PC compatable...but that's only really a plus for me.
EDIT* Its around $15US monthly, which is about £7.50, which isn't exactly bad, and the download is about a tenner.

I tried this a while ago with a trial subscription:

Was okay, looked a bit shit and certainly not as easy to pick up as Beef but could be fun with some 5punkers. Especially as we could trial it for free first.

They update the graphics every so often, but, you can't really blame them, with such a large game world and all.

That looks like it could be fun. I wonder if the English could invade France though?

i've just downloaded the free trial thing and personally i wouldnt pay for a subscription. i thought it was all pretty bad, especially the graphics (i know its got a big terrain but im sure they could have made it a little bit better). a big 5punk game might be able to make it a bit more interesting but then we'd all have to pay for it and i dont think its worth it

narf, I don't think they really can do better, without spending more money than they make with a profit.
It looks like such a deep game that you can't judge it from first impressions, the scale is plain amazing, and I know the content is limited to the newer, lower ranked memebers, who can't fly better planes. Many of my first impressions of my now faviourite games were bad, I'll have a go some time, but I think we should all have a go before we drop this, however, the subsciption is really off-putting for me.
EDIT* Oh, and this

A big 5punk game?....I assume you mean a load of 5punkers playing together, a small part of the same team.

This, hard
It sounds similar (if a little deeper) to BEEF, which I can play in three flavours without a subscription. The fact that it's more team-orientated and requires more organisation is probably a negative one for 5punkers too. I'd give a free trial a bash though.

I haven't heard of a game that interests me enough to even consider for a minute to pay a monthly fee. Huxley is probably the closest one I've heard of, but it's too early to bother with. Monthly fees are almost always a deal breaker for me.
