The first game went down quite well here at 5punk, are any of you thinking of buying it?

Probably. Though I was less than impressed with the first iteration, I've rather recently bought the two add-ons, which er..add quite a bit. Still only play to about lvl 10 then start again, though. About the point at which grind overtakes the story.

This may become my Next MMONG (TM), if a few 5punkers pick it up.

I usually avoid anything with grinding like AIDS, but the lack of monthly <s>theft</s> subscription seems quite attractive.

The first one didn't sound like my cup of tea so wont be playing this one, unless there's a big interest on 5punk.

I'm not too fussed either way really. I am interested as to how it'll pan out though. Also, LotR Online is out soon (April 20th I believe?), I'll certainly have a look at that.

LoTR online is meant to be not very good, it's all generic, apart from some gimmicks, which amount to little gameplay. Shame, considering what they had to work with.

If that's the case then it's a real shame. Like you said, it's not like they've had to struggle for source material. Time shall tell however.

Best. Idea. Evar.
Who's going to program it? I reckon we can get Roman for the jokes and Berk for the insults. 5punk present: MMOnkey Islands!

actually, that hypothetical Dreamfall MMO sounds like a really good idea. The setting and style of game has that kind of mass appeal that can get lots of people interested, and it's more laid back play style means it won't frustrate the casual gamers who are numerically superior than most of us.
