Video/DVD combo (help needed if possible)
Posted: March 18th, 2005, 9:50
Right then badger fuckers, hopefully some of you will be able to guide me in my quest to get a half decent Video/DVD combo, without spending a fortune.
Just to explain, I currently have :
Big Telly (quite old now, but still a really good picture)
PS2 (which I use to play DVD's)
Xbox (which I don't use to play DVD's as for some reason it starts jumping)
Video (which was a cheap and nasty one a few years back, with dreadful recording ability, but half decent playback)
Stereo (with Dolby 5.1, allthough I only ever use 4, as the front speaker is utter shitness)
What I'd like to do is buy myself one of these :

PHILIPS DVP721VR
The reason being I will then have a proper DVD player for watching all my films, without having to fuck about with control pads, and pause a film halfway through to stop the lip synch going out of whack like it always does on the PS2.
I can then play/record videos on a player that will hopefully clear up the picture better than my current one.
DVD's/MP3's/Video's can then all go through my Stereo via the standard Red & White audio connectors I have popping out of the floor behind my telly.
I can watch any Div-X stuff I feel like downloading, on my Telly and through my stereo by burning it to DVD.
My PS2/Xbox will go upstairs in my soon to be "gaming room"
Well the one above comes in at £129.99, and I wondered if any of you could suggest something better, around the same price range???
