:above: Because M and I were trying to run a Deadspace complex, and got to a system to see somebody else running it. Well, there were other symbols like the DS plex, so we flew to them, and talked to the 'agents' there. At first they just wanted Isogen, so we helped with that, but the second part included finding a special missile launcher that had been stolen. After killing about 100 respawns, M found said link that told us which of 3 gates to take, and I got the launchers we needed. We both ended up with some funky bpc's out of the deal, and some standings jumps. THERE ARE ALOT of these agents around our new home. The standings both help and hurt you, they raise one factions, while lowering another factions standings. So be wise before you find yourself hurting with somebody you want to find an agent with someday! On the good side though, none seemed concerned with our standings, so you might be able to find a COSMOS agent to help you get your standings fixed with an unhappy faction.

Very nice stuff :) What were the BPCs you got?

And you need minimium faction standings of 2.0 to start doing COSMOS missions.

Not true, I was looking in the one Gallente Cosmos area and could not use the Gallente agents. They do look at standings. I could use the Caldari agents in the Gallente cosmos area, but I'd lose even more Gallente standings, ick! They are set into levels just like regular agents and you have to meet the minimum reqs just like regular agents. So you just got lucky. :P Now to find me a Gallente lv1 cosmos agent somewhere.

edit: Did not know you needed a faction standing of 2 also. >.< I'm still at -1.something......

Thats the listing for the Gallente COSMOS Agents. Prolly should look at the LVL 1's first u hater of your own race!

And for you Caldari lovers:
http://eveinfo.com/cosmos/caldari/

The BPC I received was a "Medium 'Canyon' Shield Extender Blueprint" 3-Run. The item is basically equal to the top named extender but you need Talocan Technology 2 and items.

Word in your ear: the level of the cosmos agent does not signfiy how hard the missions will be. I've hear it said some of the lv1 agents give out stuff equal to your average lv4.

do the points gained reflect the level or the difficulty?

Woo! I've been wanting to do COSMOS stuff for ages but never got around to it. Apparently this is what the cerberus was made for. 200mill vs 40mill....think I'll take a drake ;)

Get Dolly to post here. He gave me a bunch of info about getting started and profiting off of COSMOS. Also, there is an ingame channel that has people from all over the game setting aside their differences and helping each other with cosmos stuff. If you want an invite hollar at me in game and i'll toss ya an invite, or bug Dolly cause he gave it to me :) . I don't think it's somthing you can just add from the add channels.

Anyhow, COSMOS is a whole new animal. They payoffs are huge but the work getting there is nasty.

As for the BPCs you get they are "funky named cap recharger I" for example. They take the same mats as regular items + cosmos funky things like "Outlaw dashboard from a less then stellar ship" x3 per unit etc. The performance of the items produced are mariginally better then their T1 counter part, not as good as best named and harder to make imo.

Anyhow, there is my 2isk.

Cosmos 101

Do not go into cosmos thinking your gonna get rich like on regular missions.

Do not think that just cause you get cosmos bpc your gonna be rich.

Do not think this is something you do 5 minutes a day and you'll get some where.

Do not accept any cosmos mission before you check the links I am going to give. Some of them ask you to go to another agent and do his/hers first acquire something and then go back. So it may take a while (see above) You only get 1 chance at a mission and thats it. So make sure you got time to do everything.

Now that I have stated them let me get into the good part. The bpc you get are better than T1, some are better than T2. Mostly though they are in between, Lets take a look at the officer Tach bpc I got. They do they same damage as the modulated tachs but fitting requirements are lower so one day when I get enough for 8 of them I'll be able to fit all of them on.This is something I am unable to do now due to PG issues.

Difficulty - Hulk is right the lvl of cosmos doesn't mean difficulty its more a sign of how much standing you need to use. Some of you will be like me and will be able to rip off the first 20 no problems. Right now I am sitting on about 30 bpc's. Then you'll reach a point where you need hacking and code breaking to get access to certain deadspaces, this is where you get your building materials (normally these are farmed but we'll get to that another day). You guys who can explore have a head start since the skill tree is similar. These places have insanely fast respawn rates. I did one once with some friends we had a few BS and my harbinger and we never got any where. All we did was kill for 2 hours. The missions themselves are really easy, did most of mine in a caracal and a shuttle (for the 1m3 hauling).

Standings - Cosmos boost you standings big time. You want to see show info on dolly some time and look at her faction standing and compare to you. I have only done 2 caladari cosmos with nuram before. Mainly though I have done amarr. Since I am doing them 2 I will never be able to do gallente and minitar cosmos. Basic game mechanics and little knowledge on races will explain that, and with this new faction upgrades they are doing be ready for that to take more effect. Now lets say you do caladari mission, and you get 1.0 standing increase, you will get as a side bonus of .4-.5 with amarr. Now I have never done any regular missions with caladari, but with my standing increases I have gotten I can use every amarr and caladari regular agent. Not bad for never doing 1 caladari mission.

Cosmos Overview, has the links below there too

Caladari Cosmos

Amarr Cosmos
Amarr Cosmos Detailed

The in-game channel is ARAZ. Its public channel i do believe but if not let me know and I'll send invite.

dp :boogie:

PS

The corp or some individuals want to do this, lets work together. We'll get there faster that way. Miro I know has the caladari cosmos construction skill book and i got the amarr. k i got to do some work so i'll wait for replies before going into more. The link M posted in the beginning has stuff on gallente and minitar cosmos. from what i was told from other cosmos people those 2 races aren't that good. amarr is the best then caladari supposedly.

Yes I have Caldari Encryption Methods. I bought the book when the rumors were just starting to come to light about them changing it and pulling the old one from circulation.

Also, everything i've read shows that the Amarr is the best AND the most detail is out there on how to do em (walk-thrus etc). Caldari is getting there and the Gallente/Min ones look bleak for helpz.

Anyhow, i'd love to get into it but there is a ton of mindless grinding at the low ends that I wasn't ready to commit to when i initally tried.

Also, use AF's for eveything lvl1. Got a BC all fitted and it wouldnt 'fit' in the gate. Then I downgraded to a regular cruiser and blamo- two missions in my cruiser wouldn't fit in the gate. So I downgraded to AF's. They tend to work for me but the kills arent nearly as quick...

yeah haven't heard of them getting rid of the books but will do some checking on it. if it is so then sweet as a corp we set for those 2 races in cosmos production aspects. i got a few other books but you can't train them, one of the bpc i got has it as a build requirement (weird i know).

yeah the cladari sheet in last month has filled out nicely to the point i think it may be complete.

do mine in caracal and AF as well. at first i did them in harbinger but that was way to easy, do downgraded. i did every lvl 1 and 2 amarr cosmos in about 2 days. a lot of it was trying to figure out where i needed to go next and what to bring. nuram and aki both have jump clones in chanoun, my little spot for amarr cosmos.

once i get these empire cosmos done i want to go to 0.0 and do them.

has anyone done exploration in cosmos constellations? curious to see if there is less or more there.

eveinfo is good to tell you what system and constellation is in thats it. which is sad since they do a good job on the other missions. i would ♥ to see cosmos done in a eveinfo format

yeah that link and the matrix links i put down are really all you need. if you look at the amarr cosmos there is a guy named ader and another named poun. poun wants you to get aders message, so

a) you don't accept pouns mission, then you have a time limit to complete aders missions just to get what you need for pouns mission

b) go to ader do his mission and any others you can while your there. then go back to poun and do his all at your own leisure.

the link above i need to examine more, i know when i wen to this specific mission it said something about going to see ader but it was a little sentence at the very end. combination of the 2 sites should make it easier for you (once you see the flow in the matrix it becomes really easy)

for those of you that are getting back into missions here is a little list i came up with for you if you decide to do low security missions

Severeal tips to help in running missions in low sec:

For starters, Pay Attention. Always pay attention.

Watch local. Assume everyone that isn't you is up to no good. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Know where your mission is in relation to belts, stations, planets, pretty much anything that's an easy point of reference.

Watch your directional scanner. Refresh it frequently. Refresh it constantly if there's anyone in local that might be a pirate or working with pirates. Look for scan probes. Recon and Exploration probes can both be used to find you.

Once in the mission deadspace, drop a can or container or something right at the warp in point (to expose someone warping in cloaked) and move away from the warp in point at least 40km. Keep an eye on that warp in spot, if anyone appears there, warp immediatly.

Avoid using drones, whenever possible. Get in the habit of recalling drones whenever they are not needed.

Use the smallest signature mission ship with the highest scan strength you can that can still accomplish the mission objectives in a reasonable timeframe. Don't bring a BS with a cloud of drones on a mission that can be done easily enough without Drones with a Missile fitted BS. Don't use a Battlecruiser (big and slow) when you have the option to use an Interceptor or Assault Frigate (small and fast).

Fit moodules for increased scan strength on your ship. Higher scan strength = reduced chance of prober getting a hit.

Finally, Pay Attention, always pay attention........

or find some back ally system with no one in it

Blimey, good find M :likesitall:

Think I shall return to the COSMOS missions once I get in my command ship (which will also mean I fly AF's a bit better without getting oblitorated twice (or at least that is the plan anyway))

1 question tho. are 0/10 like rookie ship only or they like l33t deadspaces?

I've seen a few of those about in molten heath. They're cosmos plexes
