ImageFrom Gamespot, the same people who brought you the fake World of Starcraft, comes the announcement of a Warhammer 40,000 MMO -- this sci-fi MMO based on a popular franchise is real though. The Warhammer MMO should also not be confused or compared to the orcs and humans Warhammer: Age of Reckoning MMO by EA Mythic, expected this Christmas.

THQ will develop the game with Austin, Texas-based Vigil Games. All of this Warhammer 40k MMO stuff is just in the talking stage at the moment, so expect the game sometime near the next decade. By then we should have hoverboards and Duke Nukem Forever.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

i'd prefer 40k as an MMO than the origional warhammer. Looking at warhammer online it seems to be going more and more like wow everytime i see an update. Guns and MMO's are rarely seen together, and i for one would love to see a decent future based game.

I concure with the thi'll either rule or blow theory. Mainly because done right, st at the right point in 40K history it's got the potential for some truely blood thursty stuff. Smack bang in the middle of the Horus Heracy anyone? :)

The original 40K was subtitled Rogue Trader and was almost a roleplaying game. I reckon it'll be along those lines, with bits of Necromunda thrown in for good measure.
