Just realized, don't we need to do initiative for our animals too?

The mount rules are a bit weird. I've been poking people on forums for thoughts on who controls the mount when you're dismounted.

By the looks of it you can make a Ride check at DC20 to dismount as a free action, then you could move somewhere (and draw a weapon for free) and make a standard attack. If you want to.

I will do that.

Ride:
Roll(1d20)+4:
13,+4
Total:17

Yay! I'll draw and shoot.

Roll(1d20)+1:
2,+1
Total:3

Erm.

DC20 means you have to hit 20 or above on your check, hard luck ;)

No problem though, you can get off as a move action and get your bow ready instead.

The move order is Glibberig, Threader and Orovan next, but you're all 11 on initiative, so why don't we go to Threader?

There's no point getting my bow ready, I won't get chance to fire it before they get to us.

Crossbow drawn. Time to shoot a bolthole into the bigass doubledog, then drop the crossbow after shooting. Oh yeah, then step off the caravan.

Roll(1d20)+3:
10,+3
Total:13

Roll(1d10)+0:
3,+0
Total:3

World's most average marksman.

Alas, Threader, your bolt does not find its mark.

The double-headed dog lets out a loud bark from one of its heads which is echoed moments later from the other as the bolt sinks into the earth by its forepaws.

Orovan!

Your sling whistles through the rain and wind, and with a jerk of your arm you send a stone bullet soaring through the air.

It impacts with one of the dog's heads, making him stumble and howl momentarily, causing him to fall behind the pack.

Glibberig!

I've only been gone a few days and look at all this action! Assume that I introduced myself in a most modest manner.

I will cast 'Shoot dog with bow and arrow':

11,+3 = 14

Edit: the enemy dogs, not our riding dogs. Just thought I should clarify.

Close, but no cigar. Your arrow just misses its mark.

Sweetlips is nonplussed.

Thor!

What say we try and get together tonight or tomorrow night to finish this off live?

Oh, and if we do it live, would one of you fine fellows be interested in recording or streaming the results? Twitch.tv or livestream are probably the easiest to set up.

Thor will dismount Grizelle.

Roll(1d20)+4:
12,+4
Total:16

As I fail on DC20 I guess that takes his move turn. He'll ready whatever weapon is appropriate depending on the dog's distance and speed.

Grizelle runs away and hides under the caravan.

Thor manages to snatch off a quick shot:
Roll(1d20)+4:
5,+4
Total:9

I drew pretty pictures. Try and guess who is who.

Sorry if I took liberties with your descriptions, guys. I've been flip-flopping back and forth about drawing your dudes for the longest time because I didn't want to "take away" creative control, or seem as though I was dictating what they look like, or mar your personal vision of them. I'd love to see your depictions too though. I know Bits and Shada have plans to draw Orovan and Threader, and FJ's made a stab at a shady outline of Thor.

Image

Sadly Thor's arrow sweeps through the air but the two-headed dog leaps to the side as it cuts through the rain.

We're back to the top of the initiative list now, so Thoon's up.

Gonna play tonight* on Roll20 maybe? I know it's gonna be even trickier than normal now that there are 6 of us to schedule.

*Sunday

I can play without voice until about 10. I'm up for work at 5:30 on Mondays though so no late night for me.

I see:
Glibberig | Orovan | Shankley
Thor | Threader | Thoon

Am I right?

I did a picture of Shankley already, although it was more a filtered photo of a LARPer than a drawing. I'm not so good with the drawing.

Right, well. Pants, FJ, Mr J and Bits can make it tonight.

Roman's away during the week so hasn't been able to vote on the little "When are you free?" thing I sent out, but presumably free for a little bit tonight. Shada's getting an early sleeptimes tonight 'cause he's off out tomorrow morning, so earlier the better. Think we can possibly have a 1-2 hour go at this early on during the night, say.. 8pm?

Roll20 has text chat (in and out of character) if we can't all do the teamspeak thing at once.

Plz&thx.

Friday 24th at 10pm then, it has been decided.

Anyone want to volunteer streaming the session?
Or I guess I could just allow other people to come into the Roll20 game and just not give them control of a token. Hmmmm. Thoughts?
