Joose is describing a Stunty League. I've never played one, but they're notoriously eccentric.

I'd take you on, but Sunday night is my 'night in with the Mrs' in which I sit with her and not play games.

I would, but I have been playing most of the day. Maybe tomorrow though, poke me if you see me online.

In related news: the AI in this game sucks balls. It does needlessly risky things in a stupid order, often at totally idiotic times. At one point today it dodged out of a players tackle zone just to come hit that same player from a slightly different angle. Same number of block dice, no significance to the direction pushed. It's several times gone all defensive and caged up on the last turn of a game, when the only way it could have won was a mildly but not overly risky long pass. In fact, it seems strangely against even fairly safe passes. Finally, it has repeatedly ignored the ball carrier who is about to score and belted the shit out of some nearby guy who is only there for support. Whaa?

Agreed, the AI is terrible. I've read it's worse on hard mode because it takes even fewer risks, and I'm inclined to believe that. Single player is still fun for trying out skills and getting a feel for your own team, but it's no preparation for games against other players.

Right, we have eight interested parties. Given that some of us are more experienced than others I'd suggest two leagues of four, seeded by experience so that the newer guys don't get battered. We can increase if more people decide to get involved. The four team leagues work well in the RPS leagues because you only play three games per season, meaning they roll by pretty quickly. So, we have:

Pants
Joose
Buzz
Berk
Jock
FJ
Bits
Fabbles

Myself, Buzz and Jock have our teams so I'd say we were confirmed. If anyone else wants in before I create the leagues speak up now. As for seeding, I'll make a Kitten League and a Honey Badger league. Those less confident should request the Kitten League, those with some experience the Honey Badger league. I'll let people work out among themselves where they start. Please get some teams created (ideally 1000TV, but I'm not going to be a rules nazi if you have a beloved team of 1010TV you want to play) and if anyone wants a tutorial match against my Halflings let me know. I'm sure Joose will do the same. Leagues will hopefully start later in the week for some friday night TS commentary.

Seems that the minimum league size is 4, so I've set up two for now. Password is 6667 for both, go apply to whichever you fancy when you have a team. Names are:

5punk Kitten League
5punk Honey Badger League

Once a league is full we'll get started. I'm going to keep this 5punky so that we don't get all tournament, but I'll probably admin results if they're holding everyone else up.

Im going to go with some form of Elf I think, as they are the complete antithesis of my DoD Dwarf team.

Unless I can play as Khorne. Then Im going to play as Khorne. :)

In fact, fuck it: MURDER TIME FUN TIME! Khorne team applied to honey badger league.

If they turn out to be brokenly powerful or something I will retire them. Having a quick look they don't look *too* absurd. The big guy is a monster, but no more so than any of the other big guys. Their specialist players seem reasonable. *All* the lineman have frenzy, which is... that's a lot of frenzy. But that's all they have, only 3 STR and no other skills could make frenzy as much of a hindrance as a boon. They seem like one of those teams that rely heavily on the will of nuffle: Good dice will see them killing all the dudes, bad or even mediocre dice will see them killing themselves repeatedly.

Applied for the Honey Badger league.

Mostly so I can MASSSIVELY BEAT* Joose for the destruction he wrought upon me in the Keys Bowl.

Kittens is 50% complete. Anyone else fancying a jump in don't wait for a place, just go for it. We can always create another league.

The leagues work slightly different to the open Keys Bowl of lore, by the way. Since the game is running the fixtures it goes by day. So once everyone in a league has played their games it can be rolled onto the next day and the next fixtures can be played. The games might also need validating by an admin (currently me, but I'll make other people admins when I can be arsed wrestling with the shitty UI), but on the flip side of that they can also be given an admin result if someone can't make a game and wants the league rolled on.

League standing at the moment, in the hope that our hilarious names and inspiring teams will attract two more people, are:

Honey Badgers:
Silvery Sycophants (Elf) - Buzz
Armitage Shankers (Uwd) - Pants
Murder Time Fun Time (ChD) - Joose
Sea Of Beards (Dwa) - FJ

Kittens
Grass Coq (Cha) - Fabbles
The Bum Touchers (Orc) - Bits

Well hopefully you should be more fairly matched in Kittens, which was the point of having seeded leagues. The only issue with that is that you won't learn as much, but if we get a few seasons in with promotions and demotions then the churn should address that. Berk, are you filling the fourth slot? Also are you playing in the league?
