It's me again asking for techy help

must be getting quite annoying but i'm never quite sure what to search for on google to find what i'm looking for and i'm sure some f you must be bored enough to want to help out a chap like myself, though i wish i was able to offer some sor tof help in return

basically the problem is that windows live messenger version 8.1 (build 8.1.0178.00) keeps signing out and back in again.

it doesnt bother me too much but a few of my contacts are getting annoyed at the sign in popups taht keep appearing for me

is tehre an easy way to fix it so i don't keep getting logged out?

have you tried a different IM app?

gaim and trillian are both pretty good and support MSN. (this'll help find out if it's an account issuse, or an app issue)

if it still happens on a different IM app, change your password and hope it goes away.

It could just be your connection, although what berk suggested will confirm that. If someone else in the house is always downloading loads of stuff it could drop out periodically.

just had another thought.

I used to have a cheapy router with a firewall that'd fuck IM connections fairly often, disabling the firewall solved the problem (and you don't really need a firewall if you're using a router)

I had the exact same problem. My solution was to go to trillian, as about a month of trying to problem solve msn resulted in 0 whins.
