I'm sure we've discussed this game before, but I can't find the thread. Sir, You Are Being Hunted is first person survival game set in a weird cyber-steampunk Britain where you're being hunted by dapper robots. Directed by Jim Rossignol, of RPS and ex-PCG fame, he's cited the inspiration as the game he wanted Stalker to be. Set on a misty archipelago, the procedurally generated islands are creepy places on which to escape your robo-hunters. It's looking good so far, and I've been watching for a while. The trailer below makes it look a bit more action orientated than previous information would suggest, but I think that's just because they wanted to fill it with more than just cowering in a barn or hiding behind walls. Kickstarter page is here, and a trailer is below (not the most recent one, that's on the KS page).

There's another video.

I'm not sure what to make of it. It's only early days, but there doesn't seem to be much to it.

That's a fair comment. It has a lot of potential, but if it's just a survival mode it might get a bit flat after the novelty wears off. A story mode and some objectives would go a long way.

I agree with El Spood.
I really like the theme, but there doesn't seem to be much game there.

I've put a few hours into the alpha now and thought it was time to comment. There's a lot of atmosphere - the visuals are lovely, and environments pitched perfectly. The robot hunters are a bit binary though - they seem to either know you're there and start shooting or they potter around on little patrols. I'd like to see more activity from them, searching for you and trying to flush you out. As it stands once they lose you they just go back to position. There's a hot-air balloon with a searchlamp which seems to wander though, and that causes you to have to keep altering your route.
The survival aspect isn't too harsh at the moment. I never really struggled for food, although I daresay as resources got more scarce through me looting the more easily accessible buildings it would horse me into the villages with the robots. It's quaint though - flasks of tea, chocolate biscuits, bottles of stout. And also a little creepy, with mouldy bread insinuating humans only left this world very recently.
It's not just about survival. You need to find a set of artefacts in order to get home, which are scattered around the five islands. They're just about the right level of difficulty to find - they emit white smoke ten feet or so into the air, so they're not impossible to see but you do need to be looking closely at the distance to spot it. I've found five so far, two of which were being guarded by a pair of robots. This highlights the flaws in the AI, as I struggled to pull them away. Eventually I found the best tactic was getting them to fire both barrels of their shotguns from a distance then charging them with an axe. They react quite convincingly, backpedalling quickly while trying to reload, then finally cowering when I catch them. The fact that I managed to pull the same trick with two pairs of them, though, is a little disappointing. I'd have rather snuck it out from under them or lured them away with a bottle thrown at a rock.
Despite my reservations, I can see this being interesting to some. I'm enjoying it, although it's too intense for prolonged games. Hardcore Stalker and DayZ players should enjoy the finished result.
