Re: Game Videos
lol Wilhelm Scream
Re: Game Videos
I love Blizzard cinematics. They should stop making games and start making films. I would watch the shit out of them.

Re: Game Videos
I'm slightly surprised that Blizz haven't done something a bit like Halo's Forward Unto Dawn. If they made a series of super high quality web videos that stitch together to make something feature film length, the money they would make from the advertising and then inevitable DVD sales would be immense.
Re: Game Videos
Dead Space Downfall, the anime prequel to Dead Space, was better than the game.

Re: Game Videos
IIRC They said they had to scrap their cinematics rendering hardware just before they started on the SCII ones, and rebuild the lot just to cope with the detail of their new shorts.
I really love them.

Elder Scrolls Online "three factions" trailer

On a par, detail wise, with Blizz surprisingly. The first CG animation I've seen in some time that's made me go "Wait, is this bit real?", mostly the faces.
Beta sign-up's live. http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/ne ... test-today

Re: Game Videos
Those faces were pretty uncanny true, but the trailer was so dull.
I might sign up, but MMOs now make me go "bleeeuuugh" whereas I used to think based on the heady days of WoW that I'd never leave them. Sigh. Different topic though.

Re: Game Videos

Re: Game Videos
Those trailers are technically very good, but they don't make me want to play either game.

Re: Game Videos
I would love it to be, because I like nothing better than TES games, so have signed up hoping, too.
A trailer does not make a game though, but given I've felt the need to share my singleplayer TES exploits here, signs are good that a shared experience could be a good one.

Dead Space 3 - I'm posting this just because of the unusual choice of music.

Certainly a nice break from WUBWUBWUB or BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAH noises.
Re: Game Videos
The RPS comments thread for that video is worth reading for the alternative soundtracks people have posted usind a youtube dubbing thing. I like that they went for a decent 80s song, but that one is overused.

Re: Game Videos
Not sure it's worth the effort unless you can pick it up cheap. I have the first one and it's an interesting curio but not really that good as a game. Kind of like Resident Evil.

Already own both games after the ubiquitous Steam sale.Dog Pants wrote:Not sure it's worth the effort unless you can pick it up cheap. I have the first one and it's an interesting curio but not really that good as a game. Kind of like Resident Evil.
Re: Game Videos
The storyline and atmosphere are great (in 1, I never played 2), but it's a blatant console conversion with all the control nuances that make that descriptive a criticism. You'd probably get more of the good bits of the game by watching Dead Space Downfall.
