I dunno. If I had to chose, I would rather play a daft near future shooter than Yet Another Modern Setting shooter. We had years of Nazis, Nazis and more Nazis, then we had years of shooting terrorists with realistic weapons. Am I the only one bored as fuck with realistic* shooters?

*realistic as in setting, not game mechanics.

I quite like the look of it to be honest, yea it's a bit daft but as Joose said, makes a change. At least there's no LAZORS.

The setting isn't really as important to me as the fact that it looks like the next in a chain of dull, console-designed corridor shooters.

I also forgot to say the future soldier game looks a bit more involved than standard cod shooter II. I might see if it's got a demo/beta lying around. Hacking stunned enemies for intel, horrific suppression stopped by smoke, bonuses for cover shooting instead of run and gun. Possibly it's as different in texture as value Red Leicester is to value mild yellow Cheddar, but I'm hoping it's more than that.

Well it's free, so it's easy enough to try for ourselves.

Noes, that's Ghost Recon Online. Above is Future Solider, the next proper instalment.

I did wonder what DP was talking about.

I went to look for a beta, seems it finished yesterday, bloody typical.

It's going to be 3rd person and have an action bar like modern MMO's. It's a WoW clone. It also looks gash.

I was already going to ignore it anyway as TES to me is a single player (or at possibly, co-op) story based game and not suited to MMO-ify.

Gambon's nasal sneer sums up how I feel about this, possibly maybe I'll change my mind further down the line but I can't see it do anything other than crash and burn.

I don't understand why they would go for a traditional MMO action bar. The combat is a key feature of the TES games, why change it to just be a WoW clone? Seems like a terrible decision, sticking with the usual combat style would have been an easy way to separate it from WoW. Bleh.

All of this. The last thing I would want is to share my TES world with others. A co-op would be great fun, but anything more - no ta!
