wireless things. problems.

So once again I've been asked to solve a problem I don't quite understand and don't know how to solve.
One of our guests (we should open a fucking guest house considering the amount of people that visit each year) has had some problems with her wireless. I'm not surprised since every person with a laptop seems to get problems with our wireless because their settings are weird.
This particular problem is a bit odd though. For some reason our old router keeps showing up in her network list and allows her to connect, but doesn't actually work (or sometimes works). I figured her computer simply remembered the name of our old network (she's been here before when the old router was still up) and bizarrely renamed it. But that can't be it since our current network shows up in her list of unavailable networks. So eh, yeah... any ideas?
