I thought the atmosphere and what I bothered to follow of the story was nice, Kingsmouth had an Alan Wake feel to it. Then the sheen faded and I could see I was running backwards and forwards doing quests. Bye bye TSW.

I continue to fail to understand why Funcom continues making bad MMOs instead of MAKING DREAMFALL CHAPTERS YOU ASSHOLES. FUCK.

I noticed a Dreamfall poster or something in one of the cutscenes. Does that make up for it?

Pretty much exactly my experience. It was like they started to make the great MMO in their heads, then thought "fuck it, I'm bored, lets just rub out another generimmo and wait for GW2".

However you may have felt about the game, this is pretty interesting:

Real life Illuminati starting locations.

Taken from this thread. A few people asked for someone to do London and Seoul, but apparently they're made up. A shame.

The Secret World has gone subscription free.

Worth playing at all? It sells for $30 over here, but it is still an MMO...

It has some interesting points, drowned out by the usual 'grind from A to B fighting a monster every ten feet' mechanic.

No, it's shit. All the quite interesting ideas about investigation and secret elder god doodads are buried behind a pile of grind. And if you do get to them they're broken, impossible or both and with this being funcom I doubt they've done anything to fix the issue.

Apparently TSW is 66% off on Steam at the moment (so £9), and subscription free. Anyone played it? Is it worth £9 (for all the content bar the last 3 episodes I think)?

Okay, that was an easy kill. Anyone played it in, say, the last year?

Yes.

It's not worth the 9 quid really. Starting area of Innsmouth is good I really enjoyed it but it turned to shit after you leave and go to Blue Mountain or whatever it's called and by the time I got to Egypt I was bored.

Such a fucking shame. Cunts.

To be fair, calling that an MMO will not be good is pretty easy.
