Stolen from RPS: Gaming Talent

I've no interest in discussing things with the RPS hivemind, even if they are a notch above the usual internet mong, so I've stolen their question to ask you bummers instead: What game have you found yourself to be exceedingly good at? Some people can craft a monstrous ship in Eve, others are a dead shot with a sniper rifle in FPSs, or you might have a bizarre knack for Starcrat 2.

Myself, most recent that I can remember, I seem to be embarrassingly adept at Blood Bowl. Not really sure why, but the results speak for themselves.

You are well known for playing with yourself.

I was good at healing in CoH, I'm not bad in Baconz and not bad at exorcising and murderising in Shartak. Overall though I'm decidedly average.

I'll never be as bad as I was when I first started playing CS:S.

Action Half-Life. One week in August 2000 I was ranked #7 in the world on the old CLQ:

Admittedly there were only 2597 players, but it's my one and only moment of glory.

I was a pretty adept Main Tank in WoW. Contrary to popular belief, I was shit at flying Eve; I just had too much isk.

My achievements are many, a fantastic source of kills in any given shooter, a good source of win stats in RTS.

Though I was a fucking good feral dps druid back in the day. Not a bad healer really, can I say I'm good at mmos?! does that count?

I am or was all kinds of average or very poor indeed. Sure I had the occasional good moment, like in the threef beta where I absolutely annihilated the enemy team with my M249 and ranked #1 with a score well above that of everybody else. Mainly because everybody else on the server was playing really really poor and decided they should all just stay in one spot, and I was single-handedly leading the charge and stopped the US team from blowing up our final m-coms and won the round. Whilst I may just be bragging that is pretty much what happened and these moments are very rare for me so when they do happen I think I'm allowed to take some pride in it. But now the beta is over and my stats are wiped so I have no way of proving it. oops. :unimpressed:

But then what game am I good in you ask? Tetris. I am a tetris God*.

*In my own home, that is.

1. General know-it-all in WoW, hardly talent though based on the 5000+ hours I have ploughed into it.

2. Pretty good medic in bf2, not bad with helichopters. Sniper RPG in BC2, oh yeah and good at the BEEEF RAAAGGEEEEE.

3. Voted in a local LAN event most-jumpy-impossible-to-kill bastard on instagib deathmatch UT2004 tournament.

I was a beast in Battlefield 2142. I was ranked a Lt. General for a while before I stopped playing, the second highest rank possible. I was a Titan defensive master, and I was great at taking down people and armor. I'm pretty good at the tactical aspect of most Battlefield games, being aware of where the enemy is weakest, when to feign an attack to lure enemies into positions that favor me, as well as knowing what the important objectives are, in strategic terms (i.e.: the important areas to hold a defense together.

I played a shitton of Titan Quest too, beat that game at least 15 times I think.

I miss this game and I want titan mode back in another game. Battlefield 2143? (Yes it was broken to begin with but was fixed, mostly)

I'm pretty good at TF2, I think. Although I took a break recently, as I was getting a bit bored, came back and found I was a bit rubbish again.

Yea but I was quite handy with the Pulse Rifle, and I seem to remember kicking your arse often :P . Used to be a mean medic in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory as well....

*Goes to reinstall UT1 and be nostalgic...*

I seemed to have a bit of a natural talent for flying Interdictor's in Eve. But that may have been that I was the only person stupid enough to fly them, not necessarily a talent.

Rocket launchers in UT and Quake III - I know where you're going to be in 3 seconds, bitch.

Edit: Pyro in TF2. I'll backburn your butt.

For me, it's strategy games - games where victory depends upon constantly thinking ahead and supreme awareness of information instead of split-second reflexes. I also excel at stealth, a notable example being spy on TF2. And oddly, I turned out to be quite excellent at Space Station 13, a game which I have been excessively playing lately.

Generally very good at RPG brain teaser type puzzles - my brain snaps into a higher level when really pushed and autopilots through them. Also I'm a mean MEAN shot with a bow and arrow primarily in Oblivion but also other quiver bothering games too. Shit at everything else, mind.
