BPO/BPC Investor Compensation

Some members of the corp (Miro, Quinn, Pass, Ki'esha, Spear...to name a few) have very generously provided the corp with access to some pretty high end and expesnive BPO's - Raven, Rokh, Myrmidon (I think), Ferox etc. Each of them has invested billions of their own isk but are willingly giving copies to the corp for...well, nothing much, which is above and beyond if you ask me. I think these guys should be compensated in some way. We should pay them something for copies of what we're getting although paying straight market price would I believe kinda defeat the object of having something in corp. OTOH, you might argue that if they have the BPO and are using corp assets (lab arrays) to make copies it ain't costing them anything (although it's Lara's lab array ofc :P ). But then BPC's that are bought and donated (like Lara's stash) aren't copiable but still represent a big investment.

So what do we do? Sum total of all the BPC's they donate and pay a lump sum? Pay a retainer over time? Nothing at all, it's altruism at it's greatest and we're 5punk? Not sure, what do you guys reckon?

As always, be candid please! We're among friends :)

Give them a 5punk allowance to buy more bpo's for the corp, and pick up their corp dues?
Those that provide a service getting compensated and all that, they are providing a service that makes the corp profitable after all.

how about agreeing a rate a little below market? Enough so that they are making income from their efforts without throwing their generosity back at them. 5punk could buy them in batches then sell on to members. Overstock could be sold on to the market, but then a different arrangement might be necessary to give more back to the BPO owners.

OTOH guys, they're your BPOs and I wouldn't complain one bit if you want market price, just suggesting an obvious compromise.

btw; CCP returned my mega, it's now sitting in Calico. Quick run for some mods and she'll be flying again :D

I'm not to keen on a weekly standing order unless it's for a formal BPO buy in programme. These work by paying a set sum each week for a copy until the original BPO cost is reached at which point the buyer gets to keep the BPO. During that time the owner can of course increase his income by selling copies to others, but it's basically a stock investment in it's simplest form. I agree though that if people felt compelled to sell copies of their BPO's to the corp it should be at a reduced price, otherwise we're kinda negating the advantage of having it in corp.

BPC's ofc are slightly different because unlike BPO's there is no capital investment. I think the only sensible solution is for people to sell any BPC's to the corp that they don't want to donate, for which the corp will pay standard market rates. Ofc the corp will only buy ones we actually need though - it's not a charity :P

On a separate note, are there any BPO's we would really like to have in the corp? I'm toying with the idea of buying a drake BPO.

Since you're asking... Gallente BS.......

If we have mymidon already (or atleast I think someone said they have one) and I think we have thorax and Celestis then I think Gallente ships are pretty well covered
