Blood Bowl - Keys Bowl 5punk League
Season One of the 5punk Keys Bowl is in preparation for this weekend. Fans flock from far and near, while coaches (but not their wives) stay away. This new event is an open league for any number of teams to register, each playing a home and an away match against the other. Teams win three points for a win, one for a draw, with level teams distinguished by TD difference. If you'd like a custom logo for your team post it here or make a request and I'll make a zip for the season so we can each see each others' logos.

We have two options:
Run the league using the game front end. Maths are done and it looks pretty, but we'll have to have all teams in before we start, or at least know how many people are going to be playing.
Or
Run the league in an open competition, like the 5punky Cup, and keep track of things on this thread. We can add fixtures when people get their teams in, but it requires more manual effort.
The former we might have to wait to start, the latter we can kick off as soon as I create the league. I'll have a look at the fixed league thing and see if we can add teams to free slots later, since I think we have our coaches now.

We have an odd number of teams, so I've created an open league called The Keys Bowl. There's no application required but there is a password (the usual). New teams only please, although this isn't mandatory (for future use).
I've uploaded the packup with logos and a few model improvements to Dropbox, so poke me for access.

Da Big Fellas Vs The Volga Wolfbaggers
The first match of the season was a brutal affair. The first half saw an immediate start to the violence as one of the ogres injured a werewolf with pretty much the first punch of the game. Da Big Fellas did little else for the half though, as the Wolfbaggers' Berserkers repeatedly smashed through the Snotlings to snatch the ball from under their noses. With the ogres spending much of the half scratching their arses, halfway through the game things are looking bad for them with two touchdowns against them.
Whatever team talk Joose gave those ogres at half time seemed to do the trick though. The Wolfbaggers, already three men down from the first half, took the full horse of Da Big Fellas' unhappiness over the score, and by the end of the game the Norse team were down to just three men. Desperately trying to keep the ball away from the other team, the Wolfbaggers were looking set for a battered 2-0 win after a lineman successfully launched the ball from his besieged position near his touchline. Heading for a teammate on the half way line, and with only the ham-fisted ogres nearby to pick it up in the likely event it wasn't caught, coach Dogpants was all set to breathe a sigh of relief. When out of nowhere an ogre hand plucked the ball from the air. The stands went quiet. The players stopped beating each other to stare. The ogre in question gawped at the thing in his hand. Unfamiliar with handling something that didn't squirm, he hit one of the Wolfbaggers with it and ran off to show Joose. Vaguely understanding that the little guys liked to take the ball to one end of the pitch, the ogre plodded over the line with only minutes on the clock. Unsure of what to do next, he then ate it.
Result: Big Fellas 1 - Wolfbaggers 2

Volga Wolfbaggers Vs Mad Dogs & Deadmen
The Mad Dogs' debut match against the Wolfbaggers set the pace early on in the game for a combination of outrageously bad luck compounded by the Norse Berserkers' smash and grab tactic. Fumbled pickups and turnover-inducing failed blocks took their toll quickly, illustrated by Coach P-nut's empty pool of rerolls and two touchdown deficit by the middle of the first half. The Wolfbaggers capitalised on gaps in the line by twice ploughing deep into the opposition's half on defensive plays and running the unattended ball in before the Mad Dogs could rally.
In the second half things began to turn round. An attacking coach Dogpants was forced to repeatedly feint in his own half before a breach presented itself for a third touchdown, drastically slower than the blitzkrieg touchdowns of earlier in the game. On the attack once more, the Mad Dogs settled into an effective cage-and-block game, pounding the Norsemen back into their line before breaking and bullying a touchdown mid way through the half. Things turned into a stalemate for the rest of the half as the Mad Dogs dug in, determined to inflict as much damage on the Wolfbaggers before the whistle blew. Mere seconds before full time a plucky Wolfbagger lineman managed to make a run, but couldn't quite make the line. In an incredible but appropriate conclusion to the game, however, a retaliatory blitz on the lineman by one of the Mad Dogs' Wights poked him over the line to end the game in an unintentional fourth touchdown for the home team.
Result: Wolfbaggers 4 - Mad Dogs & Deadmen 1

Mad Dogs & Deadmen Vs Da Big Fellas
Da Big Fellas meat-grinder continues to roll onwards.
The first half started pretty poor for both sides, with a lot of staring vacantly at the ball, ineffectual pushing at each other, and occasional falling over for no reason. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the ball seems to run for the endzone by itself. Only close examination reveals tiny green legs pumping like crazy under it. The Mad Dogs are distracted by the slippery snotlings display of not falling over, and the Ogres are woken by the cheering of the crowds. A flurry of man sized fists, and a final push puts Da Big Fellas 1-0 up at half time, with 4 of the Mad Dogs being tended to in the dugout.
Only one Big Fella casualty so far, as a snotling trips over his feet, and somehow manages to punch himself in the back of the head on the way down. Coach Joose decides its probably best if he sits the rest of the game out.
The second half is a very different affair, with Da Big Fellas coming out swinging. A valiant push through the thin green line by a Mad Dog werewolf is stopped short by the outstretched arm of an Ogre, an a similarly stretched arm kills a flesh golem. Dont worry though, he got better. The werewolf is less lucky, and has howled its last. Getting excited over all the death, an Ogre acts all un-ogre like, picks up the ball and runs for the endzone. He saw a friend do it in a previous game, and fancied seeing just how tasty the ball really is. The Mad Dogs coach P-nut can do little but watch in horror as his team are trampled by crazed ogres and piles of snotlings, who are taking a...liberal interpretation of the rules.
With seconds on the clock, The Mad Dogs make one last push, but are tied up in a sea of little green bodies. The ref blows the whistle, and the game ends.

Should still be able to join, I'm fairly sure roman and punt both joined after me and doggers had played the first game, so I doubt it's been locked down or anything.
Try some variations on the name, I can't off the top of my head remember if it's "5punk keys bowl" or just "the keys bowl" or what.
Also, we changed it to require application, as the password option didn't seem to take. One of us will accept the application once its in, give me a poke if we miss it.
