I Hate Legit DVDs

So, you buy a DVD, then when you try to watch it, you get ~3 minutes of unskippable adverts and at least 60 seconds of unskippable crap.

Whereas, if I rent a DVD, then rip it (to uncompressed DVD iso), I get all the same content for very little money with no waiting to skip the crap at the start.

Needless to say, I don't intend to buy any DVDs in the near future as it seems I just get raped for playing fair.

It's also worth noting I have over 100 legit DVDs, but am utterly fucking fed up with the crap related to using Legit DVDs.

Fuck them in the sockets. HARD.

I think someone on here once asked what the point was of all those unskippable anti-piracy adverts when you've already bought the DVD. They get cut out of the pirate ones.

Yeah it's kind of stupid how you get shafted for buying a legit copy.

always amuses me when i see 'blobby' versions of M$ applications, and theyve even photocopied the disc label.

"do not make copies of this disk" :P

This app is very handy: http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html

its basically an on the fly decrypter, which allows all apps etc to skip and play things easily. You can also just copy vobs off the dvd, then rip them.
