D&D Adventure #2: Green Shell Suit
Moderator: Forum Moderators
Nothing for me apart from the usual hanging around taverns looking for interesting things to do. I'll mention the goblins to Fitzroy and/or Dietrich.
Now, I've always wanted one of these:
Warhorse, light - 150g
Bit & bridle - 2g
Saddle, riding - 10g
Saddlebags x2 - 8g
Total - 170g
If Grimmie'll let me that is. I'll go to a larger town and ride it back if need be.
Who wants to keep hold of the magic things? Probably worth either Thoroar keeping them to try to identify later, or distributing them to whoever thinks them might use whatever they are. Or if anyone has a permanent abode we could stash them there, but they're only little.

Alrighty.
Can everyone post where you're getting lodging (or sleeping rough) and what you're buying during downtime.
You each earn 390xp for your goblin slaying efforts, congrats!
Pants, the nearest place to Orhedge that sells War Horses is a thorp called Springdell Crossing.
It's basically just a toll-bridge with a large market area built around it.
It's about the same distance away Wildemill was, so it would take you a day to walk there.
Fitzroy is suitably impressed by your exploits.

Ahaaaaa, I'm so close to second level
If I don't have a room at the church I'll bag room and food at the Iron Man until we venture off on our next adventure. Tomorrow I'll venture off to Springdell Crossing for horsey. In the tavern tonight I'll let any of my felow adventurers who are about know, and invite them to come if they want a horse of their very own. Or, y'know, if they just fancy visiting.

One that can fight, like the paladins have. With stripes. I've always wanted a horse. I hear there's a stud farm in Springdell Crossing. If anyone wants to come and see I'll be setting off tomorrow and staying over there.

I shall stay at The Red Beer - a dwarven inn.
Swaggering (and jingling a little) in to the inn, Glibberig orders a drink and sits himself at a table. When he judges the atmosphere is right, he will stand on the table and strum a few notes.

At this point, he bursts into song.Glibberig wrote:Friends! My beloved dwarven friends!
I know some of you may have heard of me already - Glibberig the adventuring Bard! Please, no inscriptions.
I bring good news. I and a small party of accomplices have defeated the vile Orc, Bogrot, who held sway over the nearby forests. Rejoice, you are no longer living under the shadow of fear!

And the shadows were drawing in
A wandering Elf was lost and afraid
Without his Paladin.
The tales had reached his pointy ears
Of evil in these woods
So he asked a wizard to join his quest
In the hope of restoring good.
They crept and trembled through the grass
So lonely far from home
When they came upon a blessed sight
A bard! A hero! A Gnome!
This champion though slightly bloodied
From a battle with some Orcs
Bravely led these fellows
And bolstered them with a stirring talk.
Further through the forest
Another Gnome and a stoic Man
They joined this heroic party
To kill Orcs was their plan.
As they came upon the fiendish lair
The party they were afraid
But the fearless Bard steadied their nerves
With tales of all the monsters that he had slayed.
Through the door they bravely strode
Goblins waited in the dark
They flung their vicious spears
Upon the Elf they left a mark
The Elf filled him with arrows
The Druid launched his spear
The other Goblins fled
And the dungeon filled with fear
With cunning subterfuge
A hostage they did claim
He told them of many Orcs
And a treasure trove of great fame
The chief of this foul hole
Was a brute named Bogrot
But our hero Bard has killed many an Orc
In case you had forgot.
The party charged through the dungeon
Killing all in their path
The mighty Gnome led the charge and
..what? Sorry, no autographs
The Rogue shot with more arrows
The Wizard used beetles of fire
Druid spears and Ranger bow
Whilst I sang songs to inspire
Finally, four Orcs arose
Huge like old oak trees
Bogrot the chief, Zul his wife,
Trixibelle and Fifi
The heroes slew them, everyone
And set some piggies free
The green menace has finally gone
So fill your hearts with glee
I hope my tale has pleased you
And I ask you now to stand
For Glibberig, Shankley, Thor,
Thoroar and Orovand!
17,+5 = 22!

There's a subdued murmur that ripples among the patrons as they stare dumbfounded at the performing Gnome, quite an unusual sight in a Dwarven bar full of raucous drinking games and shouting.
As the song finishes there are a few dwarves stamping their feet in time with the song, and a collection of peasant humans and rotund, grubby halflings swaying in time with the music, grinning from ear to ear. The crowd burst in to a round of applause at the end, and soon get back to their chattering. One or two come up to congratulate you on the tale.
Edit
Oh, and Roman gets a 50xp bonus for penning that out.

Conversation soon turns back to sport, battle, tales of heroism and women, but so long as Glibberig identifies his party-mates, drinks are willingly purchased for the whole team for the rest of the night.Dwarven patron wrote:Excellent! What a story!
Orcs you say? An impressive trophy on anyone's wall!

so long as the locals are bringin the rounds in orovan will spend the night cheerfully accepting anything alchoholic shaped passed his way untill hes reduced to incoherent muttering in the corner and finally leaving and passing out while standing propped up by his head leaning against camilla occasionally dribbling down her leg

A potion of cure light wounds goes for 50gp from the Church of St. Cuthbert.FatherJack wrote:Thor's more comfortable sleeping in the woods, though he'll visit the tavern to see what everyone's plans are. He will be buying potions. He doesn't get a horse, as he gets an animal companion later.
You can buy from there, but the priests will give yo funny looks for being a bit of a wild-man.
If anyone wants to buy stuff, let me know what you want to get here or by PM, and we can do haggling if needed.
