Werds,
Friend of a friend is looking for setting up a webbysite.
I seem to recall mention of 123-reg. Anyone got any others they could definitely recommend/warn against?
She didn't mention hosting and whatnot, possibly because she has no cloo about such things. POssibly I'll be back in a bit asking about that too!

I use 1and1 atm for .co.uk domains, not great but do the job.
Everything else goes through dreamhost, because it's cheap and easy.

I use fasthosts (on Grimmies recommendation I think)
They've been fine, no problems at all

Fasthosts have possibly the worst reviews of any hosting site on the internets if you google them.
One.com are extremely cheap as long as you don't need to host files bigger than 1mb, they don't allow that. They're free for the first year too on the 3gb package with unlimited bandwidth.
I was with one.com for years with no problems but I've just switched to go daddy since I want ASP.NET support. Was £60ish for 3 years on the current special offer plus a 20% off voucher (cjcfat20h) and for that you get 10gb and unlimited bandwidth. Seem to be ok so far although I haven't been with them long.

I only use fasthosts for domains, not hosting.
