Spec me a birthday

Post by Roman Totale »

So, it's my birthday soon. I'm intending to go out with just a couple of friends, but I have no idea what to do. I don't want to go out on the town and get pissed (I am becoming increasingly irritable when confronted with loud music in bars and even louder, obnoxious twats that pollute them).

I want to do something interesting and fun (involving alcohol would be a bonus though), but I just can't think of anything.

Any of you bright, shining people have any suggestions?

I'm all ears

I get the same thing in clubs. I think as men age they get more conservative and intolerant of idiots in FCUK shirts swigging WKD and girls falling out of boob tubes carrying their high heels whilst singing loudly to nobody and tottering barefoot down the road :censored:

/end rant

How about going old school. Late night bowling with beers and mates is good fun imho.

Do a thing and then get drunk afterward. Go karting? Paintballing?

I was just about to suggest that, beer is an essential part of bowling

Good ideas, but I forget to mention the other attendees will be ladies (I'm greedy like that), so I don't think they'd be up for paintballing etc.

However, since I first posted this I have discovered the Manchester Food Festival is on shortly, so I may do something with that.

Was a bit shit last time I went. Crap beer and horrible food. Plus I didn't win a single bet.

And it was full of proles.

Dont do Belle Vue, go Sheffield instead, much better. There is a casino next door and a travel lodge not for away iirc.

One of the best birthday night's out I've had was inviting 6 friends to a (reasonably) classy restaurant. Paid for the whole thing myself, drank far too much, went home. No clubs, no pubs, no strip bars, just good friends and good chat.

You could come round my house and bet how long my greyhound will sleep for, she's a champion.

Damn right - there are only so many vile and depraved things you can do with hookers before getting bored.

So far the Tapir Heavy Petting Zoo has been the best suggestion, but I think I'm going to go with the food and drink festival. And I'm cutting the attendees down to one (not including me).

You're just sending a ladyfriend alone to buy you food?
