Werd!
Slap the most recent one on, it deletes the previous one before putting the new image on so previous versions have no impact

It's able to support bigger HDD's, memory etc. Can fix system stability issues if you're having problems
You'll need to download the bios image you want (latest one should be fine but best google it just in case to see if it has any issues) and get the updater app and run through it from there. It might be a boot utility in which case you feed it a floppy disk and put the image on another one, boot off the first one then swap the disks over at the necessary point (and swear profusely if the drive fails or you have a power cut in the middle of any of the operations!)

I tend to avoid updating a bios unless I know it's causing problems or that the new one is rock solid and brings definite benefits.

DON'T update your bios unless something is being problematic and you're certain a bios update will fix it. It's not like a driver update - it can very easily irreversibly fuck up your computer.

Too late !!
I
was having problems overclocking my slow ass E6300 which I bought from Chikenz many years ago.
Just updated the BIOS and already it's overclockg nicley.
Just incase any of you are wondering why i'm still using my old PC - I never did get round to buying my new i7 system. We had a bit of a family emergancy and ended up spending my Computer money on flights back to the UK

How apt.
My new brand spankin' new PC is having glorious stop errors. Due to this thread popping into my head, went and looked at the Asus site.
4 bios revisions for "improving system stability".
Newest was last week (although that's not a stability one).
I know what I'll be doing tomorrow.
