ATI R600

According to the rumor mill the new ATI GPU will beat the GeForce 8800GTX. Of course, the link I had to it gives a 403 Forbidden error, so I can't see anything about how the benchmarks were run, so for now it's still 100% rumors.

unfortunately, IME ATI cards can be a lot faster than equal nvidia cards, but you usually end up paying a premium for the performance.

I've also seen rumours stating that the R600 is faster than the G80, and these were just early test samples (Upto 20% better in games, marginal in benchmarks). Seems pretty impressive, but like Berk says, it'll just be more expensive. But then again, there are always those who want 'the best'.

I would not be at all surprised, seeing as 403 errors are not confidence indicators.

And all of these seem to be saying "Someone else seems to have got something and said it's awesome!", its sounds very hoaxy.
