Concerning the current state of affairs and general opinions about what we do next, I propose some votey goodness!

I'd like to point out that NONE or somewhat equal to 0 options are designed to sound like leaving ISS is a votable option. It isn't a direction I or I believe Fea or Friz want to entertain notions of at this juncture.

Let the voting begin!

not sure of where the corp should go since i am drunk from new years. HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! I got an idea that wasn't an option. We declare war on Butter Dog and pod him everyday. We can then take his corpse and have a daily auction. When he finally gets so upset from podding everyday he'll quit. Since that will be the last butter dog corpse ever we should be able to get a NYX from it I think.

So I guess my point is we shoot BD everyday and we -> :boogie:

Well, that's 3 gone now. Wiggy to ISSN, Fear and Trav to their own pirate corp (plus whatever alts and no doubt the rest of your clan mates). Adoran and Aki are away indefinitely, Dres is going to school...clearly there is a vein of discontent with where the corp lies at the moment. So these are the options as I see them:

1. Leave ISS and go it alone for a while. No POS's, purely PvP and ratting. The miners and builders move to Fw4ppers which becomes our industrial division.

2. Find another alliance that will take a small corp with limited PvP experience and some industrial backbone but has access to complexes, decent ores and won't charge us a fortune for the privilege. Do we have any friends out there that could help us get in?

3. Keep 5punkorp in ISS, Fw4ppers for alts and the new guys and open up a full non-alliance PvP arm for letting off steam or exploring new areas.

As for me - I won't quit 5punkorp until it'd deader than dead. I have a bizarrely and possibly misplaced sense of loyalty to the corp that brought me this far in Eve and I want to see it succeed and grow (quite apart from the fact that 5punkorp belongs to 5punk and there's no way I'm letting that go!). We're also sorely lacking a corp ethic at the moment since we (mostly me) have been preoccupied with ISS stuff. Time for some more corp mining ops, 5punkleet action, WT hunting, plex running and general 5punkyness. Over to you.

Actually, I have an alt not doing much at the moment, going off this idea why don't we use the alt corp (the one pass setup) for any alts people want to use, and as an alt corp go muck the universe. Go play in the new regions just shooting people :P

That hasn't helped the 5punkorp issue but just an idea I wanted to write down, sorry.

2 an idea!!i think Catch little dry on the isk milking side! When i was in kr0m we mined in fade for 2 weeks and i got 800mil from it while we also done pvp too. So ISS great in some ways but i find it hard on isk making which to me rats one answer to get it.

3- Iss has a goal and 5punk in a way suits it. Fw4ppers great for industry and training and all but I have an idea! i have Dark Skyes and i am thinking of doing part time cearbearing and more pvp! So let of steam on PVP and roam other regions. Also pirating too but i think pirating for holiday but merc more interesting i think.

so who knows but 2-3 sound good!

i dont think it was discontent with the corps direction as such, just a wanting to try sommat different. we (5punk) would find it tricky to disengage from ISS at the mo (the whole assets in contested systems, holding sov, owing some serious bank to ISSMO or whomever) whereas its easier for individual members to slope off (not that i have a problem with that), and go play with piracy/non affiliated PVP.

for myself, i aint going anywhere, this is the corp/group of people i wanna play eve with, so i'm sticking with it no matter where 5punkorp ends up. that said, i'd guess its realy upto the pos chain runners what we do. i muck in every now and then, but some you do a lot more with the poss'es than i do. i'm all for sticking where we are, but if its decided to move on, then i'll be there as well (unless we end up with those slackers type peoples, because they are naughty)

If I am to be honest, I don't enjoy ISS. 5punkorp is great, ISS pulls it down. I guess the POS side that sorta goes along with ISS does seem like moon mining to pay for fuel, rinse and repeat. No real enjoyment there (for me anyway).

There is a new alliance about: FATAL Alliance, which looks like it might be suitable. I have seen a handful of smallish (5punkorp sized) corps join. They accepted a purely industrial corp also. Not sure about their location tho, but in the new regions somewhere.

Ironically enough, I might have some minor amount of leverage with that alliance. Even though I wasn't there long, all the leadership in F4T4L knew me, but I left quite quietly and don't know how it went down.

The thing with joining an established alliances though is that you need to be really careful that 1) you don't say oh yes, we're an industrial corp, then get asked to source the alliance with cheap this and that, and 2) don't go anywhere near anyone who's involved in a POS war. It's a great way of killing moral and driving people away.

Holy Croak! 3 peeps now, geebus.

Let us try to schedule some vent discussion on this, with agenda and such. 5punk is (to me at very least) an amorphous group that can change and grow and adapt. There are lots of directions we can take, from pouring all our resources directly into ISS and trying to push policy to our liking, to pulling out and taking ISS on head to head for a public access to 0.0 movement. As some votes show, even pirating has some interest, although I doubt we want to sully 5punk's standing in Eve with those activities.

Something I've though on a bit, is a bounty-hunter group. Always plenty of people on there, and agents can give locations pretty easily. That, it's kinda close to piracy, and is somewhat legit. It could also lead to jobs as mercs, which could keep us in the good graces of ISS, while unleashing us to more pew pew freedom.

But, as I said, discussion is the key. Could anyone schedule a time/date for that kind of thing? I think it should have a director majority before we get too serious of course.

Evening/morning everyone.

Man!!! some real thinking going on now. I've taken the time to read through the post a few time now and have a few suggestions, and the direction in which I would like to go.

Frist and for most as other people have stated 5punk is where I want to be. Great group of people, a sick sense of humor, and just generally friendly.

At this time I have 2 chars.
Quinntum: a mining freak. Can use any T2 mining crystals, drones and can fly any barge. Just needs a hauler.

Quinntarn: The hauler, now turned T2 large beam slinger. Got my first taste of combat the other day with some large beams and helped popped a frig the other day @ 125km.

I am one of the sick people that dont mind mining. It sure helps if there is someone else there with you to endure the pains. I'd love to get into more pvp, but with the current war going on, it seems that there are only a few people that will lead, and that sucks. My personal skills are not good enough to go solo yet, nor do I feel my char skills are ready for this. But, would love to pew pew.

In the past, I was in RA, and it wasnt until the end of my time there that I got into the mining group. This is what made RA interesting to me. At the time 12 coveters, and 4 haulers, 2 tanks that switched out. 50% of everything mined went to the corp. The other 50% went to everyone that mined, hauled, and tanked. There was never a shortage of min's for that alliance.

My knowledge of other corps/alliances is very little. I've been left high and dry by RA (they pulled out and let a station get taken.) Thus leaving about 200 people fending for themselves. :shakefist: ISS, willing to go to war, but only during some points in time of the day. Last time I checked, wars were 24/7

Friz and Fea... One thing that I have learned is that people will come and go. Simple as that. Some will stay... The best thing I can say is this. You can please some of the people some of the time, most of the people most of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. Again I enjoy the company that I am with, and have no reason to leave 5punk. While Catch does seem to be an "Ok" place. There are much better out there. I've brought this one place up a couple times. It is my meca for mining, there is EVERYTHING in this system. Problem is its a dead ended system and is by RA, but also close to VI. L-L. Granted Im sure its a pain in the ass place, but my suggestion. kinda like my .02 isk worth.

Anyway... Give me a heading Capt, we'll set sail with the wind at our backs and sun in our faces! :ahoy:

I think the thing here is, if you want to go PVP but your unsure about going solo either take a cheapish ship like a battlecruiser (I can testify to how potent the new ones are, especially the amarr and gallente ones) or form up a gang with whoever and go roaming. Fleet commanding isn't as hard as it might appear and once you've lead a few ops, got use to the basics like talking to covert ops, being able to tell the core strength of what you've got etc it's easy.

Mistakes do happen, but it's how you deal with it as it all hits the fan, and afterwards that I think makes a good FC.

From a complete outsider looking in, I would say what has happened is this...

5punkorp was born out of people on here enjoying the game and playing together.

After years of continual play and different people leaving/joining again, an idea was born to turn all the new in-game recruits into a seperate Fw4ppers group.

This worked well, and helped bring lots more people into the 5punkorp group once they reached a certain level of ability.

Right then, the problem with this is that as more people join 5punkorp, the less they do with Fw4ppers right? (General assumptions made here)

This happens in all walks of life be it work, friends or even family.

You need someone to overlook the entire thing, and keep hold of the 2 groups and get them to interact more, and become more involved in what one another do.

Personally, I would combine Fw4ppers into 5punkorp all together, as it is only a name at the end of the day, and you can set restrictions to who has access to what in game anyway.

That way you will simply be 5punkorp, with a larger colection of people all at different skill levels, and highly diverse as to what you want to do.

You could even leave Fw4ppers as the group to go under when on PVP missions and so on, so as not to associate 5punkorp with any "PVP gone horribly wrong" action.

Like I said, I don't play the game, nor do I ever intend to, plus I only visit this forum on a weekly/monthly basis to keep an eye on it, but this is what I have observed, and please let me know if anything I have said is a load of bollocks, as I expect soem of it is.

Woo, there's truth in a lot of what you say. The issue with combining the corps though is that it would expose Fw4ppers pilots (who are mostly new and just finding their feet in EVE) to the random war deccs that ISS get lumped with on a weekly basis. For non-evers, the game mechanics allow attacks between corps in the normally "safe" areas of the game if a formal war is declared between them Otherwise, these areas are patrolled by the cops (Concorde) and are pretty rock-solid-safe. Safe regions we call Hi sec or "emp", although technically quite a lot of empire is low sec as well, but I digress...

Trouble is, if Fw4ppers and 5punkorp were to combine under a single corp banner, the new players that Dres has been so active in recruiting would be unprotected, this was really the reason for the creation of fw4ppers in the first place, as a safe sandbox that new recruits could muck around in before comitting themselves to the 5punky way and deep space / getting chased by bad guys in empire.

My perception is a little simpler and I'd be inteersted to hear from each of those who have chosen a differnet path as to the accuracy of this.

Put simply, we have all been forced into a bit of PvP in the last weeks, due tot he IAC war and a lot of people have experienced a side of EVE that they've not encountered before (or not for a while). They enjoyed it and now they feel that perhaps the gaming experience will be broadened by concentrating on PvP for a while.

Thing is ISS is quite restrictive from a PvP standpoint. Thus mostly we have been leading a safish existence mining ratting and such, only getting PvP if we go and look for it (and it is there, as others can testify, we have a long list of enemies) or when it comes to us (in the form of an 0.0 war) but it is still within the unusual framework (for EVE) of NRDS or "not red don't shoot it". Almost all other alliances in EVE shoot neutrals, or at least don't feel the need to aplogise when they do. ISS is different as it is trying to actively encourage neutrals to engage and trade in 0.0. This restrictive approach (as some will see it) actually for me makes ISS more interesting as they are trying to enforce a sort of social compact which is ;"you can't just go around beating people up for no reason". My personal view is that ISS is a very sophisticated attempt at player generated role play, so much so that I sometimes believe the hype about it being started by the devs (/dons tin foil hat)

oops, moreing resty over and my 2p ran ou....

Not surprisingly all this crops up at least once a month. ISS is very restrictive on PvP but moreso than that, because of its very nature the territory to which we have access is undeniably crap - poor moons, poor ratting, shitty ores and full of bad guys trying to shoot your haulers. I've wanted to move on for some time narf. Don't worry about us being too deep in the alliance, I have organised everything we do in such a way that we can break clean without damaging ISS (we are no longer the primary sov holders in ZX and ISS Heavy Industry has enough people running it now that I can step aside).

what friz said i am happy. If 5punkleave i stay with 5punk where they want to go u know?

Good ore or ratting and complexe would be a bounes. I really do find catch crap to be honest. Lucky i have northwesten to be in empire killing people and doing missions :P Sp pete does what ever in the south. i been in some good PVP corp and good experiance but man there are way too many hostiles these days in the south. As there lots of naps in the north maybe we go there if we did leave? Mind u tho if we do i have a would with some m8 because i know some good people in good alliance u know?

Not sure the North is any better narf but if you have some friends in other alliance, please do make some discreet enquiries...what are the criteria for corps to join the alliance, what is expected of them, does it cost, what can they offer us, all that kinda thing.

I'm with Friz on this. If it comes to a vote I think he should get a couple extra as he's the poor bugger who has had to devote the most time to keeping the POS's ticking.

This feels like it could be the right time to move 5punkorp on and bum our way into pastures new :)

I'm happy enough in ISS and as stated I think their approach to the game is interesting. My loyalties, however, lie with the corp and if a change is in the air then fine, I'm all for it :ahoy:

Also, only ever having ratted in Catch, I thought it was quite good
