err ... pete
first off, not to put too fine a point on it but IAC are waging a war against us. Perhaps you should wait until it's over before discussing anything with them? I'm certain that you're not discussing anything sensitive with them but zero comms would be best, imo.
As for losses and gains, they could be summerised thus;
KB points; the campaign page still seems not to be updating but the
IAC K/L page on ISIS says that they have killed 8,600.94 pts against our 10,287.71 pts. 1 point is estimated at 1 Mill ISK value so that would suggest that they have taken in the region of 1.7bn isk more than us in ship losses.
Actually, I'm glad you asked me to look this up coz it's the first time I've seen us ahead in this war. Until now, IAC have lead us in points on our own KB and it is true that this has been largely due to our carrier losses. We have lost 4 (one of which was Fix carrier, which our board counts as a loss to ISS). 4 carriers = around 2 Bn loss according to the KB.
An outpost, on the other hand is worth in the region of 30bn, iirc. That's not to mention their POS losses. we took that in the last 15 hours, perhaps they were referring to their own losses.
Thus, you can rest assured that IAC are not currently winning this conflict by any measure. It is true that we have lost 4 carriers (at least 3 to silly mistakes) but it is testament to the depth of our reserve as an alliance that it did not even slow us down (as I had feared it might)
Fact is that we have IAC on the back foot at the moment. Unfortunately the timing of the conflict has matched rather inconveniently with Xmas mass afk-age and so there's little going on at the mo, which may give IAC time to regroup somewhat. People are getting very ansey about this on the forums and some are pushing very hard for ISS to be online atm. I find this quite hard to put up with when I am trying to put a gang together to counterattack an IAC gate camp and I find Lilan Kahn and Chaos Hybrid selling each other rat loot in alliance but maybe that's just me.
I strongly suggest that we all stay off the ISS forums (certainly the inflamatory ones) and letr Fea / Friz speak for us when necessary for the next few days. there are a lot of trolls there and the discontent that is being stirred is dangerous indeed.
If you are going to talk to IAC at all, I suggest that you take the line that we do not want this conflict and that they should push their own management to sue for peace. do not ....
do NOT get drawn in by smak .. unless it's my smak
Merry xmas all, I'm off out for a curry
