Colour me interested on the AmigaOne X1000. I wonder what will happen to it, I expect it to vanish sharpish like the original AmigaOne, even if OS4.x has been in constant development for years and could be quite good.

narf, didn't look that special.
For Amiga fans, this (stand/project) actually looked a lot more interesting

Anyway for those that are interested, here's the photos I took (no descriptions at the moment)

Interesting pics. I'm not sure I understand the point of keeping the Amiga going, unless it's "just because we can".

Oh my, Guitar Hero on the 64 is quite special. I only wish they'd have picked some proper music though, rather than something from Zelda.

Sure, I just imagined the Amiga OS had a particular speciality. Better for 3D modelling than Linux or something like that.

Well, Workbench or as it's now known, Amiga OS kept going because it was good.
The biggest problem I see is that they keep tying it to specific hardware, the last one was the original AmigaOne which was quite hard to get and I think they'd be best off just releasing it for x86-64 systems as a cheaper alternative to Windows.
I've got no idea why they keep pushing Amiga systems though as unless they release something akin to the originals in an all-in-one keyboard profile they're in direct competition with the entire PC market.

The AROS project stood out for me because it appeared to give a modern desktop, browser, RDP client & HD capable multimedia player on low end and generic hardware (one of those small Atom 1.6Ghz boxes) with a 10 second boot time.
It seemed quite pleasant - although I'd probably never use it myself.

Wasn't Workbench one of the first OSs which managed true multitasking?
