Split from the wrong thread 'cos I'm a tard. Need help not sucking at your class? Banned from EJ? Ask here!

I was playing around with target dummies this morning and was hitting about 3.5k DPS, but after examining Rawr a little I noticed I'm specced for about 5.7. Am I reading Rawr wrong, or am I nerfing myself? I've got most of the T9 set now, so shouldn't I be doing more than that?

For a start, target dummies are weird, they're only any use for comparing against target dummies.

Useful for honing your rotation, but no indication for actual dps.

Yeah, I know they're sort of generic, but presumably they give an indication. 2000 DPS out is quite a deviation. I ran the stats through enhsim (Enhancement shammy simulator), and after plugging in a semblance of my rotation (although we don't use rotations, we basically hit the highest DPS ability off cooldown) along with a guess at my (tectonic) reaction times I came out with about the same - 5.8k. I did hit 4.1 the other night, and I should be a bit higher now with another T9 piece and a better 'rotation', so maybe on a real boss I might get a bit closer.

I find they generally give low numbers, and as they never die, you often end up with skewed results as if nothing else, you get bored and slow down after a while.

Also note that Rawr calculates the 'perfect'dps - no lag, no human error etc. On some of the build tools (like dps warr) you can tweak it to give a better simulation of 'real' dps, but it's still pretty approximate.

And no, I'm not coming back anytime soon. Shush Berk :P

Not related, but if anyone else is having Dalaran crashes and vanishing UI like me, apparently this should help:

/console gxApi d3d9ex

It is working so far...

Try adding it to your config file instead? Like so?
