Data plans and you....
A friend of mine is looking into one of those mobile broadband plans and I was wondering how much of a plan she would need to just surf the web, email and use facebook apps. She doesn't sweep anything, just your basic websurfing. Is a 5gig plan overkill? 250meg seems like too little too.

How much is the overage? If it isn't bad, I'd say try the 250MB and see if she goes over. If she does, bump her up to the next plan. If not you're good.
You could do it the other way around, get the 5GB plan, and if she is under the 250MB drop her down.
With my occasional web browsing on my LG Vu, I don't think I use more than 5MB a month.

$0.01/Meg for the little plan, $0.05 for the 5gig. I found a freeware program thingy gonna test it out over a night or two of what she does. All the plans require such and such length of commitment.
It's stupid that it's $35/mo for 200meg or $60 for 5gig with a year plan. There should be more of a middle ground.
This is for one of those lappy card/usb jobs. Since she can't get the wi fi off her sister a few houses away.
