I dunno yet. It'll certainly be one of the top two options. I'll not be voting Labour in general, and I didn't in the last election. They seem too reactionary and populist to me, giving the public what they think the public want, by which they mean the Daily Mail reading public, and not what's actually best for the country. On the other hand, the Conservatives seem to be the same party, different colour. I'd still rather vote for them than Labour though. Then there's Lib Dem, who I mentioned on the disco board. I'd vote for them because this is the best opportunity they've had since I've been able to vote to show there's another way, and I'd hope they'd capitalise on the anti-Labouy/Tory feeling by doing it differently (and hopefully better). However, if what Pete says is correct and they'd just put their backing behind Labour in a split parliament, then I'd rather my vote went to change, which would be Conservative.

As for policies, I don't believe anything any of them say about them. They change them at will after they're elected and seem to have no compulsion to stick to any promises they made pre-election. So any vote I make will be about my own political feelings, not theirs.

Lib Dem for me. They've been in Chesterfield for the last ten years or so and actually done reasonably well, considering. Labour can fuck off, so can that shiny-faced twat.

How do you know which parties you can vote for prior to getting into the booth? Outside the big three I mean. I've never been able to find out in past years.

Nice to see my local MP (John Hemming, Lib, Yardley) was one of the few that stood up, citing the recent Wikileaks media which was copyright to the US Gov't.
I'll probably actually vote for him come the election, and plan to send a thank you email to his response the other day.
I've been looking to see who is sticking up for the issues that matter most to me before I vote, apparently he is.

So, probably Liberal for the first time ever. Yardley has always been liberal, so it's only like having a piss in a sea of urine.

Probably another childish protest vote for me. Usually, The Greens. Not that it matters, Donny Central is as safe a seat as Labour have.

I've put Lib Dems for now, but I'll be honest - I've not had a good chance to look at all manifestos yet, so it could change.

As far as the DE bill goes, I'm pleased that the "Orphan Works" clause got fucked off. The rest makes me sad. Especially no fucker turning up for the vote.

Voting on manifesto's is pointless imo. Give it about 2 weeks and one easy 'quick inw' and every party will U-Turn on their promises. You just have to vote with whoever you think will fuck it up the least.

I'm traditionally a Labour voter, partly due to a fairly left-wing family. But I can't do the same this year with a good conscience. Considering the invasion of Iraq, the following War <strike>on</strike> of Terror and reduction of freedoms, plus the recent banking situation, etc, etc. The Tories are just another type in the Bristol Stool Scale as far as I can tell. But they'll probably win in my area whatever I do, Labour losing their slight majority due to how terrible they are. So I'm currently planning to vote Lib Dems.

This here is the daft bint for round my way.

She hates smokers, loves ID cards and the broad stroke anti-terror laws and is a junior whip. So of course I get no representation from her.
