my keyboard appears to be dying, the shift key keeps spazzing out which is rather awkward as it pretty much prevents me from doing anything when it happens.

i want something wired and preferably aroundabout £20

If you want a bog standard keyboard, with no extra features (ie, all that multimedia bollocks, sleep buttons et al) then go buy a Cherry.

Pretty hardy, built well and are around £15.

I'm rather happy with my Saitek Gamers Keyboard (aka, the Eclipse) but at £30 it's over your budget.

My last keyboard was a Saitek GK. In fact it's still in the living room because Sprog plays with it. Despite being a small child's toy for over a year it's still perfectly fine. Hard as nails, feels nice, not too ugly, functional, and fairly compact. The only reason I replaced it is the paint wore off the A key. I've got a Logitech G11 now, but I struggle to see the backlit letters on the keys sometimes and the extra keys have never ben used. The 'turn off windows key' switch is useful though, as is the volume control.

I like the logitech slim-x type keyboards, got used to them now and wouldn't want a clunky type keyboard any more.
