Ive been told about this by one of the guys at werk, and it looks interesting so I thought I would pass it along to you guys:

ninite.com

The idea is that you go there after a fresh windows install, and tick all the boxes you want, and it downloads and installs all things like firefox, steam, messaging programs, vlc and so on all in one go, with no further effort on your part. Sounds good, but ive not tested it in any way yet, so im making no promises that it wont do something horrid. Damn handy if it does what it promises though!

I've used it a few times, and its been mentioned on here before.

Actually worked really well, only downside is (unless you pay for it) that it downloads stuff every time, so isn't 100% of super awesome.

It does sound useful, but I've got a folder on my external drive with the installer exe in for everything I need after fresh start. With my internet connection I can't see it having any advantages over that.

Plus side is it's a not many click installer for everything, rather than having to fuck about installing a load of apps manually.

Where does it install stuff to though? wherever the installers specify by default? I usually remove company name folders from the install path since it makes everything much tidier and easier to find.

I used it on my last install after (I think) Deej mentioned it. Not much more than convenience tool really, but it doesn't allow any toolbars and that sort of stuff, which is quite nifty.
