5punk News Feeds Update
Right then badger fuckers, I have setup a News Feed forum in the hidden area of 5punk (which reminds me we need a 5punky Hidden Category Image created at some point).
All mods have access to this forum, and they should all be able to move threads from within the news feed forum elsewhere for discussion.
That way the mods can do the filtering of what content they think is of interest to the rest of 5punk, and boring patch updates and server outages etc.. are just ingored unless they are of any importance.
Now then, would you all like access to read this forum as a registered member, that way if you reply to something that interests you, a mod or admin can move it into the forum it belongs in, where it will be noticed by others who don't bother to view it and commented upon?
At the moment only moderators may see this forum due to the negative feedback I've been getting about posting in the game forums, and I'm guessing it's more annoying than helpful for most of you.
However I think having it in it's own forum and allowing guests access wouldn't annoy people, but I will probably be proven wrong, which is why I'd like your feedback on whether you think this should be viewable by registered members of 5punk as well.
Also feel free to suggest more feeds, especially as now it won't flood the specific forums like it did during testing.

I wouldn't mind access to said forum. Also on the eve subject, with what's happeneing with the server atm, a fair proportion of the news is just going to be bumph about issues occuring downtime as they plug memory leaks etc, so moderation for stuff like that would be useful. That way we only get interesting news (Like ASCNs Titan going boom).

Re: 5punk News Feeds Update
Which reminds me (on a partly related topic); since they blocked access to UD and Shartak at work I've not been playing very much, so I think someone else might make a better moderator of the Web-based forum. Checking the news feeds and filtering them would need someone more in touch with the games than me, so I'd like to offer the post up to someone else if I may.Woo Elephant Yeah wrote:All mods have access to this forum, and they should all be able to move threads from within the news feed forum elsewhere for discussion.

Re: 5punk News Feeds Update
Oddly enough I added myself as a mod this morning for the Shartak content, but we really need an Urban Dead mod to keep the ball rolling in that forum.Dog Pants wrote:

Maybe it could go at the bottom of the forum, so it doesn't intrude on the site very much, and you'd have to want to go there to see it, rather than it being the first thing you see.
