Couple of times in the last week I have clicked through to 5punk to find a pop up telling me that there's a private message for me but when I click through to the inbox there's nothing there

Yes, spam I'm afraid. I've managed to stop notification emails being sent, but there's nothing built in to re-sync how many new messages people have. I'm looking in to it though.
