Anyone got any experience with Macs?

My Father in Law has just bought one and I have spent the last hour trying to setup his email... as far as i can see there is no POP3 option in the setup, just APOP which I have tried but it keeps rejecting the pasword to his e-mail account, I know the password is correct cos I can access it on his webmail.

What protocol do you think I need to use?? :? there were 5 options, none of which i have a clue about..

On the plus side the screen is superb, damn clear and sharp image which is what he wants it for being a keen photographer.

No its his existing pop3 account with his ISP that I am trying to setup using the default mail viewer on the Mac... though thinking about it I may be better downloading Thunderbird or something... never thought of that.. :)

Use FIRE.

Also, I can't tell if mac monitors are genuinely better, or just glossy?

You are talking about Mac Mail. That is the default mail application in OS X.

I'd guess at glossy, there's not all that many companies making panels, so it's probably safe to bet they're the same as any other premium brand.

Unless of course they're super expensive IPS panels, which are better than TN panels.

So am I right in thinking that Mac Mail is designed to pick up Mac Mail only? Or am I being a tard?

Basically can it be configured to pick up mail from an existing ISP mail account. :?

The odd thing is it just won't accept the Password, i have even gone into his account and reset the password just in case we had it wrong initially... still no fekkin joy..

I think I may stray down the T-Bird route... not tonight though.. tonight is for DRENK!! :ahoy:
