I suspect it's not particularly optimized.
looking at your machine specs on xfire, I'd bet another 2gb of ram would do well.

I have a feeling one of the make it pretty options reduces the framerate drastically.

Aah yes, that's it, horizon based ambient occlusion. Self shadowing on pretty much everything on screen, that'll definitely eat fps.
Editz - guys at Ea/Dice confirm that this not only eats fps but also causes input lag.

Updated Xfire profile.
Got everything on low at the moment. It runs ok, but it still feels wrong. Perhaps it's just the mouse. I'll play some familiar stuff to get me used to it.

I suck in this one as much as I suck in Beef. At least this time I didn't get kicked as soon as I joined a server cause I'm new to the game.. which has happened every time I've tried MP Beef.
