24" 1920x1200

More inputs the better, usb hub would be nice too.

the less bezel the better

not particularly concerned about cost, but sensible price.

Why do you want a usb thingy on it? What have you got that needs to be plugged in all the time and requires more than the multitude of usbs your case no doubt has.

not much that needs to be plugged in all the time, but my cable arrangements aren't great and need fettling, it'd be nice to have a few more ports that're easy to get at.

I'd get the iijama with speakers, but I know you don't use them. I guess it depends whether the smaller size and odd resolution of the Dell is worth the convenience of USB that you could fix with a cheap USB hub on the desk.

IIyama's are nice, but I tend to associate them with office stuff more than gaming, so not keen for primary gaming screen.

oh, and going for the samsung, because of the stuff FJ said, and the dell has a shiny bezel.

IIyama's work fine as gaming screens, that's what my home pc uses, personally I think it's better than the Acer I've got on my uni pc and I've had no issues with it at all.

I have no doubt they work fine, but I'd rather take something that's been angled a bit more towards gaming, and not be paying extra for the (IME excellent) iiyama support.

I think "brilliant" is a stretch. They are certainly cheap and do a reasonable job. And I don't regret buying one.

To be fair, mine was on sale and within ~£20 both up and down were worse specced models from other brands, so it was a no brainer really.

And is there really such a thing with LCD about being modeled towards gaming anymore? At one point I'd have agreed as they used to be the models with the best refresh rates, but now with everything around the 2ms mark anyway, it makes no difference.

Well it was a joke because I knew that was the one that just died on Berk. However, mine is still working fine.

I've found this to be a good resource for choosing a quality LCD monitor.

I went for the samsung up there :above: as it's cheap enough, looks nicer and should do the job.

Yeah and the Dell UltraSharp 3008WFP - 30" is rather nice too. USB Hub, 9-in-2 card reader, 2560 x 1600

Where did I put my wallet...

You don't have to put mine anywhere when you look at that, it runs off and hides.
