well that was frustrating

I'll not deride the FCs for making us hang at the KDF POS for hours last night because, frustrating as it was, I know that there was other stuff going on hidden from us grunts and that it's likely that, had we engaged IAC in a timely manner (while we still outnumbered them), Priory's 30+ BS fleet would probably have made it in time to reinforce them anyway and losses would have been much greater. As it was, the only expensive ship from 14 we lost in the banzai run against the IAC snipers was a flycatcher, all the rest were t1 cruisers and frigs from what I could see so in fact popping 1 (rumored 2, but no KM) BSs could be considered at least even for our losses. Of course Jon Hawkes lost his Domi, but then he shouldn't be so eager, should he? And he's Welsh. And I bet he's ginger.
no, what made me nearly push my head through the screen in frustrated madness was the laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.
Warping in on a fleet of >100 and the first refresh I got on screen was half of them targetting me. After that I swear I wasn't getting a refreshed screen more than once every 3-5 seconds. Once I saw the targetting flashes (actually static, coz of the refresh rate) and realised that I couldn't control the ship effectively I tried to punch out but by the time I had managed to get a warp to option up I was toast. Couldn't even initiate a target. I suppose I gave the IAC fleet something to shoot at for 10 seconds and just for that, I suppose I played a part, but it certainly didn't feel like it from where I was sat.
That is not what I waited 3 hours for. I have all the normal puter improving settings (effects off etc) except for sound coz I didn't know how to do that (thanks whoever told me afterwards, it's done now
) I can only think that my PC wasn't up to the task. The only way I could be useful in such a situation would be in a tank with mods on during warp.
Frigate gangs ftw, at least then my set-up can operate at a workable level. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to this fight, but I can't live with 0.2fps
/me dreams of a new PC
