IAC WAR PASSDOWN 12/11/06

Time: 2am MST (2hrs before downtime)

IAC has gatecamps on 2J and a few ships on F4R in ZXIC...

ISS has only a few pilots in the system, so I figured i'd call it a night.

As for the events this evening, many many ships were kaboom'd on both sides.. over 200 last i checked. Until the last hour or so, we were able to keep our main fleet up and reacting to their camps to be able to counter them getting a foothold (and setting up a cyno), so I dunno what will happen now that they have the advantage in the system.

Anyhow, I have to sleep. Tonight was good fun and I look forward to the comming excitment, even tho it will be costly for everyone.

I'll check in when I get up.

something i've wondered about but not tried or experienced (as I have not used warp bubbles before)

Do they stop ships dead inside them when they pass through? If so could we set up a bubble in between gates in W9 as they may not get spotted on the scanner and if the gates are clear they jump and stop in mid space and at our mercy :)

Anyone with more knowledge on these things please pipe up and make me look silly so I can return to my corner 8)

I really don't know. Inclined to say no they don't, cos otherwise it would've been done, but then they did manage to get those carriers out of warp 100km from the station :? Guess we should try it

Edit: Unless it was a bubble anchored 100km beyond the warp in point? I know bubbles suck you in so this could've been it?

It only works if the bubble is on the same grid you exit warp in. You could probably place the bubble at the very edge of the grid though by having some one sit at the gate and some on else mwd away until they vanish from the overview. Then you'd move back into the grid 30km or so and launch the bubble.

Edit: Actually, thats not a very good idea as you'd only be able to catch people warping to the gate and not people jumping in through the gate.

They work by sucking people in if they're warping towards it, placing a bubble behind a gate in line with another gate sucks ships into it.
