The Time Vacuum of the Year award is given to the game which holds the top position for hours spent on Xfire for the whole 5punk community. No nominations are required, the data will be collected from X-Fire at the end of the other polls. However, feel free to discuss potential winners here. Or talk about kittens. Whatever.

So, it's WoW right? I'm not sure I even need to check.

Possibly, or Eve.

I guess that's WoW, I never played it and don't intend to, but those that do play it seem to like it. alot. So much even that they speak in their own strange language, one that makes less sense than the average Ex-Eastern Block dialect.

Hmm. I wonder if most of the Eve hours were logged before the 5punk group was made in xfire, because it only has 700ish to Warcraft's 4000+. Or maybe Hehulk left the group. Might not be worth doing this award if there's no competition in it.

Well given it's had all year to run and run it's probably wow. But I guess if dao maintained the levels it's been at then it could be in with a shot. I've not logged the vast majority of my probably 100+ hours in it on xfire what with busted internets and PCs etc.
Even then though it's only a two horse race.

DAO is never going to catch Warcraft. Sure, it's a long game for a single player, and you can add a bit of variety and play though it a few times, but I can't see me playing it for another 1300 hours.

As far as timesinks go, WoW is obviously well in the lead, but I'll mention Arma2 again, because it's currently sitting between CoD:UO and CoD4 on my xfire list, despite only being 6 months old, which is a bit worrying really.

Maybe we should have categories for MMO, Multiplayer and Singleplayer games. It's a shame we can't easily work out the stats from just this year - I guess we could do it next year by writing down the top 10 or so now and subtracting.

Or just remove MMOs from the list. Give Warcraft and Eve a lifetime achievement award.
