I know there's a few coffee bummers on here so i thought i might start a thread now i bought one of these:



At the moment i'm drinking waitrose's italian own brand and it's rather nice.

Any suggestions for goin-grabbingly good coffee?

Fuck. Now I want a coffee.

Tea is by far the superior beverage.

Same here, ran out of milk and couldn't be arsed going to the shop.

That said, I fucking love tea.

I love tea and coffee. I have a Gaggia Cubika coffee machine, which works an absolute treat when the grind is right. Took me a while to get it right, but with a burr grinder on the finest setting, it's awesome.

For beans, I don't tend to buy any specific kind, as it can be difficult to get espresso beans around here. I tend to buy at least a couple of packs whenever I do see them though, and currently I'm using some Sainsbury's Best (or whatever the luxury brand is) espresso beans. I keep them in the fridge, but am too lazy to grind as I go, so I keep the ground coffee in one of those sealed glass jars.

The main thing for me is to make sure you buy the darkest beans you can for making espresso.

I used to have a stove-top machine like yours, but I found that the time it took to brew was just long enough for me to forget about it until its burning.

I use a Tescos cafetiere and pre-ground coffee. I know it's not fancy, but now I've started using it most of the time it makes even the good quality instant I've been using taste unappealing. I've been meaning to investigate more elaborate options but I been put off by the cost.

I picked up my machine for about £120, but it was a birthday present. I only got it after moving in with the Mrs, as the mate I'd lived with all through Uni had an espresso machine and I may have become a little addicted.

We've got one of these things;



It's very handy if you've got visitors and don't have time to make proper coffee, just put a pad in it and voilà.
We also have a proper coffee making machine, and use self-grinded coffee beans for that. I never drink coffee though, hurts in the bowel compartment.

Don't have any special machine, not really got the worktop space for it in our flat but I like a nice cafetiere coffee on the weekend, can't really drink coffee in the afternoon or evening, I reckon it keeps me awake. I do have one of those small stove top espresso makers in the cupboard but it's a bit of a pain to use and the base isn't quite large enough to balance safely on the (gas) hob

Love tea as well though, especially at home made in a nice big teapot.

I find that coffee aids the mid-morning toilet ritual.

Well, tea does the same thing, but does it more gently.

Caffeine does have that affect on the bowels, according to wikipedia:

"Caffeine relaxes the internal anal sphincter muscles and thus should be avoided by those with fecal incontinence.[67]"
