Has anyone else had a mess around on the Stock Market? I know Hulk did very well on it a while back.
Since my alt is supposed to be a trader, and Friz posted the market web-page in-game, I thought I would invest a few ISK. Out of the three stocks I invested in, only one has increased in price, and the profits of selling it minus the broker charges don't make it worth doing just yet - it still seems to be increasing though, so it's definately a waiter's game.
Something I wasn't expecting though were dividends. One of the stocks that doesn't seem to have moved much paid me 400k - I have just 5M of their shares, so that's a nice payout for doing absolutely nothing.
It's not that I don't like playing Eve, just that I have a lot of other games to play, too - I just think it's great that not only do my skills increase when I'm offline, but my wallet can grow too. If you have cash to spare, are saving long term for something, or know you are going to be away for a while, it's better than having the cash sitting in the bank - there is risk attached of course, I haven't seen any stocks plummet massively, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.
