The second series stared last night and you can watch it online on the BBC Scotland website:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/tv/videogaiden/
In case you don't know it's the videogame programme from the Scottish team who gave us the Internet gaming and comedy show
Consolevania. I've watched the first half online but it's a bit crappy in that little window so I'm waiting for the
I recommend you give it a watch and have a look at the
Consolevania vids as well, you'll find plenty of clips and full episodes on
Youtube and
Google Videos.

Unfortunately my ratio of 0.900 just stops me downloading until the torrent is at least 4 hours old.
The very first review is

This has led my mind wandering off into what Gaiden means, as I've seen it before. In typically Japanese style it's a bit fuzzy, but basically means a sort of biography of something or colloquially it seems to be the alternative story of something. I got that, just, but then I looked into Japanese grammar (I'm fascinated my grammar for some reason. I'm just a nerd I suppose). That's very different, and it baffled the shit out of me. Mind you, I suppose I'm not going to pick up Japanese from half an hour of reading a Wiki page about it...

The Consolvania bit on Oblivion shoe throwing had me in stiches, pure genius

I saw the first episode of this last night, I've set up the Sky+ to record them all. Rab wandering around in his dress with a horse mask on was corking.
You can tell the difference between this and consolevania, language and features wise (I doubt we'll see Hitler or John Gacy, Child abducter/murderer on the beeb) but they haven't changed their format. It's still entertaining and new and they haven't allowed themselves to be led away from the stuff we appreciate them for. Will look forward to the rest of them. The bit on animal crossing had me laughing especially.
I'm glad too that they haven't given in to "scoring" games - this would be plain wrong.

Loved it, but then again I am a Consolevania fanboy
I agree that its not quite as good as CV- no child killers in clown suits or rampant swearing or Reggie and JJ Allard gettin freaky with each other- but it still is fantastic.

Watched it last night, excellent, a show for gamers rather than that usual dumbed-down "gash". Although the vast majority of the programmes will cover purely console gaming which many people here are not interested in, you loss.

it was good, but a tad boring. the xbox web cam bit was especially so. It was less a review than a poor sketch. Maybe i just don't get Scottish humor

No, I think you hit the proverbial nail. Personally I very much enjoy their insane meta-reviews, but I did get a bit bored during the final review of some mental Japanese RPG type thing. I'm sure FatherJack would love it.

Heh, perhaps the game (whatever it was) if I don't already have it.
I only watched one episode of Consolevania and found it a bit hit and miss. I liked where they were talking over the games - it was the one with The Ship I and they included glitchy bits and saying "WTF is she up to" etc, but the sketches were a bit tiring. I'm embarrased to admit I find the accent a little hard to understand when they are talking quickly, which I know is hypocritical given the impenetrable gutteral grunts emitted by the people of my own city. It is fortunate for you all that I do not type that way, although some may have noticed it creeps in sometimes in games and messages.

BOMP!
New episode available. I'm tempted by UT3 and Ace Combat 6 now.

I've seen you playing it on the 360 and was mildly disgusted. But my opinion is changed now, I think.

Mine hasn't. I'm still disgusted by Chicken.

This series has been a bit odd so far, not sure if I've liked it completely. Although parts are showing that these boys could really make a commercial success of their work, even if they're not on proper TV. Which everyone knows is dying anyway, am I right?
This latest episode is almost pure gold, about 21 carats I'd guess:

I know what you mean- I keep forgetting about it.
That means I get to watch a couple of episodes at once though, so it's not all bad.

The latest episode has a review of the Bernie Winters Tabula Rasa, sounds shit:
