Re: Wars Of Guild 2
Anyone still playing this? Me and the Mrs need to do that final "kill the bigass dragon" quest that is stupidly a mandatory dungeon, and I'm buggered if I'm subjecting her to the horrors of a PUG.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
I still have it installed. I wouldn't go so far as to say playing it, but I'm happy to jump in on a Friday or Saturday night.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
I do. Been away from it for a couple of weeks (I find the latest update annoying) will happily tag along and kill a dragon
I think I have an alt at that stage.

Re: Wars Of Guild 2
It was fucking shit. Climactic ends to many hours of gameplay should not be several cutscenes of not a lot happening, followed by pressing 2 until the bad guy falls over, followed by yet more fucking dull cutscenes. I wanted to use my awesome flame powers to bash the big dragon in the face! I did not do that. I am sad.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:The end of this game was so. fucking. disappointing.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
Perhaps you get different results if you do it in explorer mode.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
I want to have a dance off with him. Or a Pangya competition.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
So, Lions Arch assploded.

Only two more chapters and I might try and follow the next storyline.

Re: Wars Of Guild 2
Lion's arse burns - curried antelope implicated.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
New expansion announced, go kill the plant dragon.
Wonder if they are going to do this with every Elder dragon, I count at least three more not including plant-agon.
Also, looks like new areas have been added to the game for level 80s. I've not explored them yet, Dy has and she says that it looks like a better version of Southsun. Crafting has been updated and looks quite a lot less grindy than it was before - more ways to skill up your professions from 400 - 500

Re: Wars Of Guild 2
I don't think I ever actually maxed my character in GW2. I got to the island at the end and just couldn't be arsed grinding my way from A to B against mob after mob after mob. The exact same thing which has killed almost every other MMOMG for me. The dungeons were good and tough though.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
Lions Arch has finally been rebuilt, the remodel is quite open and airy and actually quite pleasant to be in. The theme is still nautical but has less of a shanty town feeling to it.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
I always liked Lion's Arch. Interesting place to explore with a strong theme. I might go have a look.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
Since my drive for some 5punky Warcraft dungeoning fell flat, I'm going to have a crack at GW2 again. It's had quite a few updates since I last played and is easier for 5punkers to join in with since half of us already own it, you only need to be high enough level for the first dungeon, and it's going free soon.

Re: Wars Of Guild 2
Ive been continuing to play off and on for a while now. I would definitely be up for some dungeoning though, as I have done maybe two, ever.
Re: Wars Of Guild 2
Expansion has launched!
Yeah, probably not that exciting to most folks, I realise a lot of us never even finished the story let alone any of the seasonal content. Means a lot of the characters and events will be unknown to you. Fear not! Arena Net have included a catch up cinematic to bring you up to date.
Anyway, the base game is free now. All of it, no strings attached. Which means we really should get some WvW going on some weekend (it's like a fantasy version of Planetside) If you purchased the expansion we could do with organising the Guild quest to clean the mordrem out of our prospective guild hall - it's already been paid for.
Short review:
New areas are very different from the originals. Lots of group events kicking off - scaling of course - and the only real quests are those for the main storyline. This is quite freeing at times and bewildering at others.
Can't comment too much about the new elite classes because I've not unlocked one totally yet. New base class, the Revenant, is a mean hammer swinger though and I've been having a ball throwing hammers around like John Henry on roids. Seriously, two handed hammers are a ranged attack. New mechanics foe this class - imbuing yourself with the spirits of dead heroes and villains - is very versatile and with the right weapon switches you can create a character ready for anything.
Also, gliding is a fun take on the flying mechanic. Makes you evaluate the scenery in a totally different way.
I recommend trying the base game for some WvW if you haven't already, and if you liked the base game I recommend the expansion.
